The worst of the racists are people from a past generation like Cornette, Hogan, Russo, Hayes. There’s people passively racist like AJ/Taker but most of today’s wrestlers minds are generally in the right place.

Can I get some backstory on Cornette's racism?

Absolutely has

Hell, on the real as a kid wanted to legit become a wrestler, got older realized between travel & :mjpls: shyt i’d have to put up with it would never be worth it
the traveling the crazy boss, the ribbing, the racist shyt, lack of insurance etc. But yeah the cheers of smelly racist neckbeards make it all worth it:troll:
If you're a female wrestler you even get the privilege to hug em in photo ops:mjlol:
Just keep telling yourself while you're overdosing on painkillers and booze it was all worth it while staring at that poster of yaself on an event you didn't even headline:wow:
You ain't even fighting for real and are at the mercy of some crusty ass redneck for a spot :wow:

Will echo what I said in the Linda McMahon thread

WWF was a huge part of my childhood and the golden era was a very magical, special time for me in my formative years. There are videos of my at 4 years old playing with hasbro toys and “reading” the WWF magazine.

I want to look back at those memories fondly and still appreciate it as a fan, but with their ties to Trump, Hogan’s racism and Warrior being a jackass wing nut, it’s getting harder and harder to do that

For sure. The last episode of any WWE TV I watched was the one where New Day broke the tag championship record. As soon as I heard there was talk of bringing Hogan back I was

I've been interested in AEW since their inception, but I'm considering throwing them in the bushes too.

On another note: Master P and Westside Gunn would need time and they would have to sink a ton of cash into it, but House Of Glory, as a Black run fed on TV, staffed mainly by Black talent is money.

The combination of Black Twitter live commenting on it and Middle America hate watching alone would put them on the cultural map with the quickness.

For clarity @Bryan Danielson - I agree with you that there's potential in HOG. I just don't think it's wise for them to be signing free agents to exclusive contracts before they even have a TV deal,

The news about Issa Rae and The Rock collaborating on a show about a Black backyard wrestling company really interests me though.

Wrestling (for me :yeshrug:) is senseless entertainment I’ve watched since I was a kid

there’s racism everywhere in the US (not excusing WWE but being real)

If you stopped watching WWE because of racism :salute: but you should also stop watching the NFL, NCAA football and basketball, most TV shows and Movies since Hollywood is notoriously racist and pedo :scust:

People rationalize things all the time, I’ve never felt the need to “take the high road” morally when it comes to wrestling personally, but I understand those that do

I've been less interested in wrestling for a lot of reason but if you're talking about the racism aspect, to me the way black wrestlers are portrayed in wrestling can be infuriating.
