Has social media allowed more blacks in this generation to be "woke"?

Seems sometimes I be dropping knowledge even on old heads. And anything I think it was due to a lack of access to educational resources when it comes to African American history when it comes to their generation.

Do you think we have more "woke" people just due to being able to google information relatively easily?

And if so how do you think this will help or possibly hurt the progress of African Americans?

To an extent, sure. It makes more aware, but usually on the feelgood hashtag "staywoke" type shyt, basically amounting to what they call twitter activism. The amount of "woke" folks not doing anything outnumbers those who are.

Its en vogue to be aware, even if you arent part of any movement that requires action.

It definitely has..look at the Janelle Monae tweet about Prince introducing her to 'Hidden Colors'.. It's thousands more like her. It's more vegans, more black gun owners, and more black entrepreneurs than ever right now

With both of you being right. Is social media helping to hurting blacks becoming self aware

For this reason? No, because not as many people as you'd like to believe get information by doing their own research. Also, it's an illusion of being "woke" more than anything.
And if so how do you think this will help or possibly hurt the progress of African Americans?
No. African Americans will only progress holistically when there is a radical change in attitude and I doubt that will ever happen. At this point, if you're a Black person looking to progress, you'd be best served doing your own thing and working with like-minded Black folks whenever they come about. I personally am not going to pretend that every single Black person in existence would like to see the Black race progress.

It's good to be more aware of racism but too many people have a voice now imo...they think they are leaders and know what needs to be done.....that leads to slow progress or none at all because people aren't on the same page and a lot of wrong ideas/opinions get exposure and even followers ....95% of "woke" people need someone smarter than them to tell them what to do imo...some cats watch a Hidden Colors video and think they can lead a rebellion and economic revolution :whoa:...there's a poster on here.. forget his name, talking about starting a militant army :laff: ...asking dudes would they die for this shyt.....like shut up dude

Only if blm-style hashtag activism is your definition of woke.
