In the scrutiny of social media and modern media he's gonna catch some darts but overall in the 40 years for an occupation that's pretty flimsy where any of his scoops can be debunked but promoters simply changing the plans, hes managed to carve out a decent credible journalist run with wrestling and MMA


What he gets critized for (Being a Japan smark) has also probably helped the profile of international pro wrestling and have fans are also thinking of booking logic more carefully with American promotions which while annoying and not why you watch Wrestling is also a fair critiscm and applies to anything they dont agree with too. Yeah its probably partly taken the fun out of fans mentality towards the busienss but I also think the promotions are to blame for that.

As far as AEW, Ive heard him be critical of them (this PPV and the go home show or last November or when the butcher and blade debut) I think Bryan Alvarez is really the guy people need to go at when they are mad at Dave. He does also have a poor ability to overexplain and overdetail things which leads to his gaffess. I will say though he needs to stop gassing the Being the Elite web show. Its amusing but it doesnt need a fukking moment by moment recap and he sounds like a dweeb trying to explain why a joke was funny.

Other than that, he alright and for all the hate he gets people still source him.

I find it funny that people still take his star rating system seriously when he rendered it pointless by giving matches six and seven stars

His star ratings are trash, he is like a wrestling critic, any big fun high entertainment type of match gets low ratings. He only gives out high ratings to the technical masterpieces. Entertainment is entertainment, it’s not better cause it’s more scientific. WM17 is widely considered the best by most and yet it got the same rating as the most recent manias.

he hates wwe for having 3-4 hour PPVs but praises NJPW for doing the same thing.

Satin's antics lately have annoyed me, you can tell he got his start at TMZ. Not to mention that Sportskeeda, WrestleVotes and Ringside News stay putting up false stories they make up.

Let's be real though the people that do that are some overzealous fans. They exist in all mediums. Alot of the talent enjoy the attention and the limelight but alot of them don't have the tough skin for the other side of it.
