Has Guardians replaced Star Wars?

The new SW movies can suck dog shyt and fans might abandoned every new Star Wars product, but that doesn't change the history of the franchise and how oldheads like me feel about the legacy. I still haven't seen VIII and I won't go see IX, but Star Wars shyts all over GotG and I liked those movies. GotG is a fun couple movies, SW is an epic franchise.

Again this whole shyt is reactionary. If we’re talking quality that’s objective obviously. But if we’re talking cultural significance, impact on the landscape, and legacy, this is no contest.

This is like asking if grant hill surpassed Jordan.

Guardians has two movies. Star Wars has 10. Guardians has a few toys here and there but Star Wars is a merchandising juggernaut and still is. So long as that merchandise continues from toys to blankets to lamps to cereal, guardians will never be on that level.

Every generation has had their Star Wars. Older heads had the originals. My gen has the prequels, the new gen has what’s going on now. That’s 40 years worth of movies and not even including:

The Ewoks cartoon
The droids cartoon
Clone wars
Rebels
Christmas special

So this isn’t even a fair comparison. At all.

Guardians is a brightly lit candle. Star Wars is the sun. That shyt don’t even out

Saw both GOTG films recently, and just wasn't feeling either one really.

GOTG1 seemed like a knock-off of a Star Wars prequel to me.


GOTG2 just wasn't good.

Only character I f*cked with was Groot.

Most people also think Popeyes is good for them. Doesn’t make the shyt true. You’re asking people who don’t apply context or history to anything. I’m just always amazed at how shortsighted people are and how they only see one side or one angle and don’t weigh out everything. Every generation has a bout of ADD and I guess it just gets worse as time goes on.

And on a personal note I’ve never given a damn about what the rest of the people say. I feel how I feel and I stand by my convictions. Rest of the world can kiss my ass as far as I’m concerned

Guardians is overrated but it's what's poppin. I couldn't care less if I watched them movies ever again tbh. Star Wars still has the lore and overall classic and timeless character's. Guardians is just a fad imo.
