I was actually lucky enough to have gone to a taping for the Chappelle Show and saw the Rick James skit a few weeks before it actually aired. Thought it was the funniest thing I had ever seen seen in my life, and couldn't wait for my friends to see it...I told all of them there is no way I could describe the comedy involved they would just have to see it to understand.

No doubt Chappelle had tons of material on that show that was funny, but THAT skit was next level funny and a watershed moment in comedy, right up there with Eddie's Delirious or anything Pryor had done at the peak of his power.

In retrospect him walking away from the show between season 2 & 3 was one of the smartest moves ever!
