I hit 90 in a batting cage on and off for a few summers like 4 years ago.

The scary thing is if the balls get wet AT ALL (Meaning it doesn't need to have rained out recently, it could just be humid) they tend to slide off the arm all weird and I got f@cking PELTED a handful of times, had be scurrying for the gate like a child.

Once your over the fear, its just about timing, consistent swings and hand eye coordination.

Now a live pitcher throwing 90's with movement??? I ain't neva done that.

I use to play HS baseball I promise some of them strong ass whiteboys was throwing 90's. The ball use to just float by me like I was retarded or something. You learn to appreciate powerful/great pitching in that position though...It was too fast for me too even react to swing lol

Haha, when a dude can hit the outside corner at that speed the ball looks so damn far away when you take the pitch.

shyt looks like it was 5 feet away when in reality it's right there.

Hitting a 90 mph fastball is not that hard. What is hard is not knowing whether you are getting 90 mph fastball, a 81 mph change up, or a curve ball that looks like it is going to take your face off before it breaks right over the middle of the plate and makes you look like an idiot

It's been said multiple times...but I'll say it again...it's not the speed that's so difficult...it's the change of speeds

If a guy is up there just throwing 90+ down the middle...then hell yeah I can crank it...most anyone with solid hand-eye coordination would eventually get the timing down and be able to get a hit

but that's not how it happens in a game...especially at the high school level when they are a little wild...always a little nervous you're about to get beaned...I bailed out on some nasty curveballs in my day...sliders too...and I remember my first at bat in a game I got beaned by some plus heat...I went 0 for the rest of my at bats, because I kept thinking he was gonna run that mess in on me again...smh

In the batting cage, and i was scared as f*ck. They usually had the machine on 75-80 but one week they turned it up to 90 just because n*ggas were talking sh*t about how good they were. I was standing waaaaaaay outside in the box, no way in hell i was gonna get hit by that sh*t.
