Has any street rapper ever had their character more assassinated in diss records than Jeezy?

I fukk with both of em but nikkas gotta stop with the boogey man shyt talking bout Wop. I may be wrong but I've never heard of anybody running up on Jeezy in real life. Guwop done had nikkas running up in his spot and running up on his ass at da mall n shyt.

Slick Pulla ppl used to press these nikkas at they own video shoot

The only people who deify Wop are people who think that everybody with a body is the real deal. Like, nikkas robbed you and you had the hammer, were you not supposed to clap somebody? Doesn't warrant some extra praise...

When I was in Atlanta, we're talking 2013-14, I managed to link with a cat who grew up with Wop through some dealing. The dude's character was verifiable, not that i was looking into him, but he got me into a strip club that used to be off Ponce De Leon back then, and there were other cats there. The guy I'm talking about was solid, so I have no reason to think he would make up shyt...

I was 24 at the time, he was about 9-10 years older than me. Same age as Wop and if you're from Zone 6 side and tapped into the politics you'd probably know who I'm referencing if I mentioned this cat. He wasn't no kingpin or nothing outlandish, but a cat from Gucci era who had done bids and was active in the streets and wasn't a nobody...

This wasn't the day at the club, it just came up in random conversation we were chopping one day, I asked him how they felt about Wop in the hood, his era who grew up with dude. This is pretty much a summary of what he told me:

"Gucci cool, I fukk with him. Know his momma, his family. He was always a little different though, you know some cats from your hood where the lightbulb doesn't always go on at the top? He a little off, but he cool. He was kind of a sendoff, he was the nikka in the hood you'd gas up to do dumb shyt, cause you knew he would do it"...

Cat I'm talking about was 34 at the time, I remember now he was a decade older than me, cause he asked me about if I was affiliated since I was from Cali, I told him yeah, and he was telling me bout how he didn't bang but in prison he hung out with SMM and knew the NY cats that brought it to Atlanta. I asked him if that's how Gucci got on to the Blood shyt:

"To be honest I don't know where he got that shyt from (laughing), cause that shyt new here, like it wasn't out here when we were growing up. None of my nikkas who real Bloods from NY and put nikkas on really associate with dude, don't nobody know where he got that from. Like it wasn't no Cali nikkas coming thru Zone 6 putting nikkas on, we all think he just got it from jail. Dead ass he came home from jail one day and was wearing red bandanas out here (laughing), nikkas was like that's Gucci for ya"...

So the Bloods he knew that were put ons from the NY cats never pressed Gucci: "nah cause Wop a pop off now, he ain't a sucka. Plus he was already getting buzz rapping at the time, nobody was really on that. But how dude talks this hella bricks talk, nah, Wop wasn't no trapper like that. He was a nikka who would rob dopeboys and have a little weight on him, ball for a few weeks before going broke or going back to jail again. He was a Jack boy, that's the Gucci I know. I dont know nothing about him being this dopeboy with hella bricks, there was nikkas from our hood, including myself, who was like that and he wasn't in those circles. I'm telling you I grew up with the nikka, if he was here right now he'd tell you the same. Some of us were really getting money. Wop was a robber, nikkas knew he was on that, he wasn't the type to post up and get it"....

So he was with the gunplay? "He had some shootouts here and there, cats knew if he had he'd use it. Wasn't like nikkas were shook of him, he from here, we all know him. Big as he us he can't fight (laughing). He'll lay something down if he had to bit it was alota nikkas in our age like that, he wasn't unique. The unique thing about dude was he was a little off so he'd do shyt like the bandana shyt I'm telling you, march to the beat of his own drum. But we proud of dude, we fukk with him"...

Asked him if the gay shyt Snow mentioned bout Wop was true: "nah I never heard no gay shyt about dude, that ain't never been on him. But he did do hella drugs, it wouldn't surprise me if he did some off the wall shyt while high, but I never heard no gay shyt"...

@Jekyll

I'm only bringing this up as it relates to this thread. I was never a huge Gucci fan but I respected his popularity and grind, his work ethic putting out music is well respected. And for a long time I thought dude was legit dumb, as in not smart, but his career tells otherwise. And dude I knew told me he wasn't an idiot, just a little off...

I remember these convos with dude cause again, we networked over drugs together and I only knew a handful of people who personally knew celebrities in Atlanta before they were celebrities...

So my point is basically piggybacking you anyway, I never saw Wop as this super thug, and when I net the cat that grew up with him, he said the same thing. Wop is official, as in he was active in the streets, but the idea he's Ultimate Gangster was mostly put on him by hip hop media and fans who aren't from his era or his side...

Cats try to say things like they checking Jeezy, reality is you had two nikkas really in the streets who got into it, but Jeezy wasn't some chump, either...

When has Jeezy ever really rapped about violence or acting like he was the hardest dude ever?

Jeezy has rapped about knocking shyt down, but the understanding I got just being around cats in GA, that wasn't really his reputation. He was always known as a hustler, not saying he never popped on nothing before, but I never got the impression people viewed him like that...

But he definitely has songs where he talks about wetting shyt up...

What songs, IV listened to almost every Jeezy album

He makes alot of inspirational Hustler music.

That's how I always views him as a rapper personally

Haha he has hella songs like that. Way back on "Get Ya Mind Right":

"Its not a trick question, yeah I'm strapped bytch/and off the tip, you can miss me with that rap shyt"....

....."a big shootout on the highway, Jeezy hanging out the coupe, letting em fly sideways/a straight g nikka, don't tempt me/I'll lend ya the whole clip until the shyt empty"....

He's always mixed some shooter rhetoric in his rhymes. But like I said I never got the impression he was actually viewed as a shooter anyway...

He does have alota motivational music, no disagreement there!

I like that post, and the word deify you used. Gucci wasn't a heartless killer, or a big time drug trafficker, Jeezy wasn't a 100 kilo drug trafficker, but he moved work. Almost every rapper, take 20% off what they say, from the violence to the drugs. The difference is 80% in it is official enough, just like your guy was saying. I always, always read the Jeezy/Gucci incident, like Jeezy was one up on Gucci, because he never sent anyone back at him. Of course, these guys are way past that, as they should be, but those that glorify all that nonsense, and childish diss records are the ones who probably know the least of what that was.

I mean they kinda have a point..bruh talked like he was the black Escobar, and repped Atlanta when he aint even from here..Gucci moved here when he was 7 or 8, but Jeezy spent his whole life in Macon and Hawkinsville, but he supposed to be the biggest drug dealer that was in 4th ward :patrice:

Sosa from BMF vouches for Jeezy says he is 100 ..he is what he claims to be
:manny:

I can't front although I've always viewed Ross as a FRAUD

Ross had me dying laughing when he did that interview discrediting Jeezy street rep...

"Jeezy was the official WATERBOY for BMF"
:dead:

Good to see them patch things up though

They made some good music together..

"Hustling Remix"..."Luxury Tax" are classics
