In ATL there are alot of Grants to Redevelop former hoods that black folks arent taking advantage of.

THIS...... But professional blacks don't wanna move in the hood though....... I see middle easterners buying these types of houses, AND STAYING IN THEM TOO..... cause that's the only way you get the grant money if you live there for at least 2 years.......... then they renovate and rent to other foreigners or young white professionals......

Banks have done things for black people, but had to be sued first. Never made it a *thing* to go after black people.

NACA - sued BOA and other large banks for the subprime garbage to get advantageous loans for black people. That's the best place for new homebuyers. They have a solid program to ensure you aren't buying too much house.

Hispanics have crafted a large economic block to force action on their behalf. Black people have not. The companies just pay off Jesse, Al, or <insert civil rights relic> to get us off their backs.

It also helps that they have a negotiation piece that we don't..... It is called a country.

These companies also use situations like this to waggle their way into markets overseas. Look how fast Trump was shut out the Latin market when he made those comments.

If black Americans had a country of 121 Mill like say Mexico it could wield us a lot of power. The whole people without a country really hurts us....IMO.

Im conflicted with this because on the other hand this is messed up but on the other hand do we really want handouts? I mean I can already see how royally screwed this going to be for whoever is participating in this program :francis:

You are right for the most part middle and upper class blacks do not want to associate with the poor black neighborhoods unless it is to get deals on food and clothes and hair, buy dope and buy cheap liquar.

I made a conscious effort when I was young go to into these communities and invest in them. I have real estate in the poor area of the west side in Chicago. And I have real estate in some poor black areas in Mississippi.

Me and my boy are looking to invest in some of the poor areas here in Dallas.

I always encourage middle and upper class blacks to invest in these poor black neighborhoods. One it is crazy to give these folks your hard earned money just to buy trinkets and be an economical slave. Second you can invest in something that is cheap and will grow in value. Third you can leave something for your kids and or flip it years down the line to pay for their college. Fourth it is giving back because you are a black owner, you are fixing a house up in the community and paying taxes....which helps the community and school system. Fifth you are keeping that land in the hand of black folks and if you decide to sell it....you can specifically sell it to black people.

Sorry for the late response brotha. But this site acts crazy when I am in china. Some threads I can't even get into at times.

An older sista who is a friend of my family has always been a mentor to me. She is one of these self made black millionaires who invested in real estate. She lost everything after the economy tanked in 9/11, rebuilt her shyt and most everything in 2008 and rebuilt her shyt again. Anyway she would harp on me when I was in college to make sure I got some real estate when i got out of college and got a real job. She harped on me to not be silly and buy trinkets and cars to give my money right back to white folks.

So the first thing I did when I graduated was get with my cousin and we went in on a house in Chicago. A foreclosure and fixed it up. Just with the idea to say we could do it and have something like what Dave Chapelle said his farm was. A fukk Hollywood place that was paid for. Our two unit home was a fukk corporate America in case they laid us off or fired us we could have somewhere to stay.

Then we rented out the units in the house and my wife and I took our money to buy anothet house and fix it up.

But all in all half my properties are rental and the other half I have family staying in and they just break me off with some money. So like I have a small place in my wife's home town in Mississippi. I let my niece through marriage stay there who is in school. I just tell her give me a couple hundred a month (cause i want her to understand that you have to pay something in the real world) and don't destroy the house. This also stops folks from breaking in and stealing shyt.

Which is really important if you got a house say in a rough area in Chicago. Jokers will break in your house and steal all the copper pipes.

I ain't no big Trump tyc00n real estate dude. Just a regular brotha trying to leave something to my family and actually invest in some of these black communities. Cause man you would be amazed at how many folks own house in these communities who aren't black, are slum lords and treat the tenants like shyt.

But it is a tough business managing a property. But I try to help these tenants especially these brothas and sistas who trying to do something and are hard on their luck. But some times folks will try to take advantage of you.

Anyway one of my boys who who I meet a few years ago really has his stuff together. Brotha in his early 30s....this dude been buying properties since he was in his late teens. He was a D boy and would do this to hide money. He got out of the game and got legit (he was arrested but the judge told him to go straight or he would put him in jail for 10 years). Dude went to college got his degree and been working in corporate America for years.

Anyway dude work a regular 9-5 like us and got like 12 properties. He manages like two of them and pays his cousins to manage 8 of them and the other 2 are managed by a real estate company.

Dude has it set where he will retire and sell 6 of his properties at 45 and manage the other 6. Then his wife can retire at 50 (she has a government job where she gets a pension).
