The pro-ratting will grow even bigger, I'm afraid. I've noticed in recent years there has been a huge "rebellion" vibe from the youth. Started with the skinny jeans movement. Kids LOVE to rebel against whatever "rules" the old heads try to enforce. It's like... "Oh OK you think hip hop should be lyrical? We gonna mumble the shyt outta this now."... "Oh yall homophobic and against feminine fashion? Then we gon embrace gay people, make it not cool to use the word fakkit and also dress like them and make yall mad!"...."Oh you think that stupid street code is some kind of hardcore rule of honor? We gon snitch ALL day on you bytches and make it seem funny/cool. fukk your old ways."

It will only intensify. Internet/social media makes it worse.
Serious ?

do u want criminals not to snitch on each other?

It is crazy that snitching actually made him more popular rather than just not hurting it. He has a chance to get his first #1 next week, while he never really came close to that before he snitched (other than Fefe, a very mainstream song that was played everywhere).

Black people aren't fukking with his music so he's on the other side of the game now.. won't last long once he's deemed corny

not sure why this thread is 2 star'd I think that a lot of people dont want to admit it but yeah actully this was a huge thing for hip hop....not just that he snitched but its the whole spectacle about it....people arent about the music anymore its all clout and numbers...takashi def changed the game and i been watching hip hop since 94./...its a diff game now

I said nothing of supporting either side. When I say things like "I'm afraid", or "it will only get worse", I'm simply talking about the intensity of the shift. Could give a flying fukk what kids or criminals do. Simply talking about the temperature of the culture.

Yup, exactly. And when I said "recent years" I meant this new generation...prob beginning around that era, or even before...with 50 vs. Kanye...and the majority favoring the soft, feminine, nerd style of rap vs. gangsta/street rap.

I work with mostly black people in their 20s and they're not bumping his shyt like they did in 2018.

But I do see people of all races defend him on social media.

Yeah I figured that would be the attitude about him. But his new song isn't even that interesting IMO, it's crazy to me that it's still #3 on Spotify.

At least the old Kanye was being true to himself, while 50 was rapping about taking bytches to the candyshop and murdering black men for sales :yeshrug:
