He has had this game before and that double team argument is getting boring..Rockets fans always use that whenever he has a bad game. He was doubled last game too and was decent.

His whole energy today was lazy, just go watch his body language. He is also not the first player to get doubled teamed. It's easy to double Harden because once he gives up the ball, he doesn't do anything. Maybe he should be more like Steph and play off ball where he can get an easy basket. Theres a player on that team who averaged 10+ assists the past 3 years who can easily get Harden easy shots but Harden does not like doing anything outside of ISO ball.

NAH WE CANT PRETEND
THEY ARENT AGGRESSIVELY DOUBLING HARDEN
ON DAMN NEAR EVERY POSSESSION.

HE HAS A TON OF shyt PLAYOFF
MOMENTS BUT THIS AINT IT.

I agree in a sense but at the same time, it's almost as if he's allowing it to happen. Dribbling for 15 seconds, gets doubled and passes it to teammates with shot clock going down every play isn't smart. Also when he does get doubled, he makes no effort to get open after he passes the ball and just stays at that one spot. You can blame the gameplan and the coaching staff but as a player you need to make the changes as well and not just blindly follow something that isn't working. This game in particular it looked like he quit from the jump. It's like he knows he's going to get doubled and just says fukk it, nothing I can do about it

If they were literally impossible shots to make, then why not pass the ball? Everyone on the court with him is a shooter/scorer and you say he was doubled so one of them has to be open. Wouldn't passing to the open shooter be a better move than missing 9 out of 11 impossible shots?
HE WAS PASSING TO THE OPEN SHOOTER...

IN THE 2ND HALF OF GAME 3
THE LAKERS STARTED RUNNING THE
SHOOTERS OFF THE 3
AND SENDING A ROTATOR
TO THE PAINT.
THAT PLAN CARRIED OVER INTO 2NITE...
THIS IS WHERE THEY MISSED HOUSE
BECAUSE MOST OF THESE GUYS
HAVE TROUBLE FINISHING AT
THE RIM.

I WAS INTERESTED TO SEE
HOW HOUSTON WOULD ADJUST
COMING INTO GAME 4.
THEY DIDNT ADJUST.

A GUY WHO TAKES 22 SHOTS
PER GAME TOOK 11 SHOTS
WHICH MEANS HE WAS MAKING
THE RIGHT PLAY.

Breh, he took about 20 shots. The reason he only had 11 field goal attempts because the refs put him on the line 20 times. (And the Rockets didn't gt many possessions total with just 26 rebounds.) If they didn't fall for all his bullshyt it would have been more like 2-15 or 2-16 with 10-12 free throws. You can't claim he wasn't shooting.

And Gordon, Westbrook, Covington, Rivers all finish at the rim just fine. The only guys who don't finish at the rim are Tucker and McLemore, which doesn't matter because both of them are just waiting for that open three anyway.

You're really making a lot of excuses for a supposedly elite player who gets to benefit from some of the best spacing in the NBA.

MOST OF HIS FREE THROWS
CAME IN THE BONUS.

:dead:COVINGTON IS ONE OF THE WORSE DRIVE AND FINISHERS IN THE LEAGUE.

GORDON & AUSTIN CANT FINISH IN TRAFFIC.

LAKERS SENDING
THE ROTATOR TO THE MIDDLE
HAS STOPPED ALL THEIR DRIVES
AND FORCED PASSES BACK TO
THE THREE.

I CANT BELIEVE IM EXPLAINING THIS.

DID YOU ACTUALLY WATCH THESE GAMES?

This was part of the falling out with CP3. Whenever CP3 would run the offense or got the ball from Harden, James would stand far above the 3pt line or near half court. That's why CP3 would get mad - move without the ball to force the defense to fukk up and you can get an easy bucket.

You check Houston's CP3 + bench lineups and it was higher than CP3 + Harden and Harden + bench. CP3 used to tell D'antoni to leave Harden on the bench and that used to get him heated :mjlol:

Nice attempt to move the goalposts on Covington. :mjlol:

You didn't say that he couldn't drive, you said he couldn't finish. Covington isn't a ballhandler but he's been an excellent cutter since the Sixers years and he finishes very well, even in traffic. Gordon and Austin are both aggressive drivers who finish decently well for guards and you can't pretend like they've only ever scored when the rim is completely open. Jeff Green is solid on driving and finishing. And Westbrook of course is an elite driver and finisher.

Harden is literally surrounded by guys who can shoot and he has multiple other ballhandlers around him at all times. Every time they double him it leaves shooters open on the perimeter, especially when they rotate someone to the middle to cover up there. Claiming that he can't come up with any option and has to just throw up wild poor shots is lame for someone who's supposed to be an MVP and the best offensive player in the game.

I'm trying to imagine you :cape: this hard for LeBron on a 2-11 outing. :dead:

:umad: @CHICAGO , someone's made a clip of Harden's plays for the game. :dead:

0:23 Single-covered by Morris, backs him out to 3pt line, gives him a fake, then misses the three badly
0:29 Trapped high by Morris and Green, has a brain fart and drops a weak bounce pass to no one, turnover and automatic bucket for Lakers
0:45 Single-covered by AD, beats him easily and makes the layup
0:55 Single-covered by Green, beats him but KCP is standing on the restricted circle and Harden blows the layup
1:00 Splits the double team and gets to the rim but Caruso is standing there and Harden BADLY blows the layup
1:10 One-on-one against Caruso on the fast break, Caruso strips Harden at the rim, turnover
1:30 Drives on Morris, slams an elbow into his chest and gets called for the offensive foul, turnover
1:45 Tries to throw a full-court pass to McLemore but overthrows it out of bounds
1:53 Pulls up early for an open long 3, misses badly off the front rim
2:05 Single-covered by KCP, misses a 3 off the front rim
2:14 Dibbles lazily straight into a trap with the shot clock winding down, coughs the ball up straight to Morris, turnover and another Laker bucket
2:26 Tries to split the double-team and gets the ball tipped away, another turnover
2:35 Single-covered by AD, misses another 3 off the front rim
2:45 Single-covered by KCP, makes the 3
2:55 Single-covered by AD, blows by him but met by Caruso at the restricted circle and misses it AGAIN
3:03 Single-covered by AD, misses another 3

Out of those 16 plays he was only doubled on 4 of them but he went 2-11 with 5 turnovers :heh:

I'm sure he had other plays where he was doubled and just passed out or made the right pass, but he clearly failed to make shots when he had chances and straight fukked up a lot.

Be 6'6" and get stopped at the rim by fukking Caruso three times in the same game brehs. :deadrose:

Harden gets doubled on the perimeter and that takes him out of a possession completely. The play could extend for several seconds after he’s given the ball up and he’s still standing in the same position he was when he passed. Dude has no willingness to move or play without the ball- cut, run off screens, play in the post, etc. You can say it’s the scheme but if Harden wanted the coaching staff to make adjustments to get him easier looks he would have already suggested some new actions. Look at Curry when he’s doubled and look at Harden. Harden just gives up.

Everywhere...You never there.
Who was it that was trying to correct me when I said that playoff Harden would still show up even in the bubble?

It ain't about the rest - he's rested as hell. It ain't about the crowds - there are no crowds. This is just how his game works under pressure.

First he goes 5-17 in Game 7 of Round 1, the first time they actually had a chance to lose the series. Now down 2-1 and in a must-win game, he goes 2-11 with 5 turnovers (could have been 2-15 if refs weren't calling weak shyt).

It is who he is. :yeshrug:
