Why did Jaylon hop so far inside ? Its like he fell for the play action but the play action was terrible cause the running back went right into his route and McCoy is just extending his arm into empty space. LVE was further away than Jaylon and diagnosed it instantly. Or does Jaylon jump inside cause he thinks 34 year old Colt McCoy is going to pull the ball down and try to run for the 1st in a preseason game ?

From what I see I think jaylon was anticipating a run but not that wheel route.

Which is the problem, because the running back instantly went into the route. He went into the route so fast that when Colt did the play action the running back is already 3 or 4 yards to his right. So how on earth could Jaylon "anticipate" a run there. He is literally standing in front of them unblocked. If he would have just got beat on the route thats fine that happens all the time to even great linebackers. But that one step inside he took means that he had 0 chance to do anything on that play and that is why this dude is beyond fukking trash. This dude is arguably the worst linebacker I have ever seen at any level of football. Teams are going to build entire offensive schemes around him. I bet if we played 4 games where Jaylon practiced all week and just flat out didn't play on sunday, we would go 4 - 0 because half the other teams playbook would go up in smoke since its nothing but plays targeted at taking advantage of Jaylon's stupidity.

He's one of the most frustrating LBs I can recall watching

Look at this

Even the rookie was able to process the fact that the ball was on the ground quickly.

It's mindboggling how Jaylon finds a way to NOT make the play. How does a LB always take himself outta position? By the time this nikka makes a tackle they done gave up a first down or worse, but he's still out there clappin and swipin. :francis:

As somebody who really started watching football primarily for analytical and educational purposes instead of entertainment purposes, jaylon doesn't have any natural football instincts. You see these crazy plays where he literally moves out of the way of the ball carrier, cause he doesn't know where the ball carrier is, so he never knew he moved out of the way in the first place. You see these plays where he grossly over pursues a ball carrier cause he doesn't understand a running backs natural running path or what their tendency is or situations where they will bounce outside or inside, and so since he doesn't understand these things he makes the same mistakes over and over. It's not even a mistake, because a mistake would mean the person knows what they are doing is wrong. He doesn't know its wrong. That's how he is able to do all these dumb ass things then tackle somebody 12 yards down field and then do his swipe celebration. To him he made a great play cause he tackled a guy and that is what linebackers do, get tackles.

Quinn has is work cut out for him this year. Like I said teams are going to scheme their entire offense around Jaylon. I guess Quinn can use that as an advantage every week, cause he sure as shyt is going to know how teams are going to try and attack the cowboys defense. It's going to be wherever Jaylon lines up.

He will be a backup by the middle of the season and cut after the season. This dude might be Jerry's worse contract when you think about it. He NEVER plays good.
