Happy Monday Coli fam. Question, has anyone tried the Popeyes cajun turkey for Thanksgiving? Thinking about getting one.

ATL, but rasied in DMV
Sounds a little pricey. Think I'll stick with my annual 3lb Butterball turkey from Krogers or Walmart for 12 or 13 dollars. Cook it in the airfryer the right way, and you can't go wrong (very tender and juicy on the inside). It's always been more than enough for me, and I wound up overeating for a few days.

I was still watching "A Charley Brown Thanksgiving" every year or two, until they messed things up. I liked the way it ended, with Charlie Brown eating Thanksgiving dinner with his little yellow bird. Never understood a bird eating a bird though. Meanwhile, I'd be chilling out with my little dog. Took a minute getting use to not having him around, after sharing 14 Thanksgiving dinners with him. But I finally moved on for the most part.

To go even further off topic, lately I've been enjoying Thanksgiving alone more that going home for Christmas. I hope it doesn't turn out that way if I go home this Christmas. I guess it all comes with being a boomer, as people close to you change, and you have to plan a little harder to enjoy it.

I know there are a few Cajun food spots around Dallas...at least a couple of those are HQ'd in southern Louisiana.

A number of places will ship Cajun-fried turkeys, though I imagine the prices are all about the same ($50 to $100). If you have the setup, much cheaper to DIY....but if you aren't big on frying stuff, it doesn't make sense to buy a big deep fryer if you only use it once a year.

When I got one it was as a second turkey. We had a main turkey which my mom made and later on we made the Popeyes turkey to eat on thanksgiving night.
