I consider Halsey white. Based on how I've seen her presented 100% of the time, I will stick to that. Braids don't suddenly make someone black. She could tell me she was half black and I wouldn't give a fukk about it. I could meet her father and I'd still consider his daughter white based on who she is and how she carries herself / who she associates with, which is white people. Nothing about who created her would change that.
On the other hand I consider Zoe black because she is more brown. But at the same time, seeing some of her press comments lately, I can't say I'm surprised she doesn't see herself that way.
Is it unfair? Absolutely. Do I give a fukk? Absolutely not. Would smash both of them into oblivion while ignoring debating this shyt with either of em

My daughter went to music camp with her when she was in middle school. I've seen girls who could pass all my life but she had virtually no real sense of African American identity. If I didn't see her dad, I would not have believed she was Black.
