This makes sense though, before our country got extremely desensitized.... Like how people were extremely disturbed and crying during the exorcist and shyt.... My mom showed me that movie when I was 12 and I was like

Thats pretty cool to listen to.... The only two horror movies I saw that got a crowd reaction like that was The strangers.... When they first show the killer in the house in the background everyone started yelling at the screen...
And ofcourse "the ring"...

the 3rd one was the original idea for the sequel of the franchise..carpenter wanted to create another story and continue the idea with it, no more myers etc. The studio and mustapha akkad (exec producer) wanted a myer's sequel and wanted part 2 to continue from the original..money talks bullshyt walks.
i saw this before and a longer version with people claiming they saw one or two from the audience passing out etc..many said they plants to enhance the marketing/promotion of the film!
let me tell you something, people were not ready for this movie..this was ahead of its time and disturbing for the viewers of that era! Wish i was there to witness the premier or first viewing!
