I'm a Babyface fan/stan and I will say that this is correct. Allegedy, she got tired of the marriage. Face did cheat a few times, but her heart was never really in it from jump. Word was when Face met Tracey, she thought that he was ugly and didn't want to date him, but her mother had to convince her to make it work because Face was blowing up (was already rich from songwriting and producing. His solo albums were about to change the game).
On the album Face 2 Face (Neptunes produced There She Goes/Stressed Out, What If) the song "With Him" (personal assumption) basically lays out what happened. Tracey left him for his best friend (assuming he talking about ex-friend Eddie Murphy) and it was a public spectacle (of course, in their circle). I bet he cried on that record.
