you both got points so ill add my opinion, my kids are mixed Black/White/Other but they claim Black, they grew up wit Natives, Indians, Whites & Blacks but when you asked them they told you they were Black... theyre mom family mosty dates Black & Native, the mixed kids mostly claim Black, regardless what else they mixed with... part of it be teachin but the other part is self recognition.....
when your child makes a comment about stupid White people, you remind them their mom White & the response is "Yeah she is but Im not, i wouldnt do that" its a wrap
they got uncles & 1 considers himself Black because he darker & identifies while the other considers himself Native based on his teaching, aunt claimed Native or Mixed, i forgot... they got the same damn parents though... shyt had me

Chances are your son will identify the way he sees fit, or at least the way the world sees him. If he looks more Asian than black and people assume he is Asian then he may identify as Asian, if he looks Blasian then he may identify as bi-racial.
People self-identify. Gabriel could tell this girl she is white until his face turns blue but if she wants to identify as bi-racial then what can he do.
More importantly, you want your son to marry a black woman to retain his blackness, are you grooming/conditioning him to appreciate black women?
