gotta love this nikka !!!
BROOKLAWN STAND UP
It's Brooknam, unless young people say it different now. Basically mixing Brooklyn, and Vietnam
Ice-T's camp comes from Brooklyn, were they cool with Jack or his team?
They were into music, I doubt it, and by the time Jack got into music, they were in Cali
1) No way in holy hell will this nikka be allowed stateside ever again...especially with the current climate
2) First time hearing him speak....didn't sound like I thought he would at all...doesn't sound like a Brooklyn guy at all
The older a lot of NYC people are, you can hear the southern accent, mixed with some NYC, and west indian if they come from the Islands, Kool Herc has a heavier Caribbean accent, but you can still hear the south accent in his speech.
Remember before the 2000's, most black people in NYC family came from the south, and in the early 60's, a lot of blacks from the south came to NYC start a new life, this is probably why hip hop was created around this same time. The new technology, discos opening up everywhere, early disco taking over NYC, southern/black people loving to party, police letting us party outside with no permits, blacks having money to spend, gangs taking over, along with racism/black pride movement, is what created hip hop. People like to give the image of poverty, but a lot of blacks were doing well back then in NYC. Queens was one the top places for black middle class families. The same for Brooklyn, although not as much as Queens, and much more poverty.
