AUDIO | United States Support for Repressive Regime in Haiti Condemned by Human Rights Lawyer
999u7g_aiascw

In a press conference on Wednesday, renowned human rights lawyer, Mario Joseph of the Bureau of International Lawyers (BAI), condemned the acts of violence and repression being committed by the Jovenel Moïse administration against the Haitian population. As well, he took the opportunity to lambast interference and support for the regime by international actors, namely the United States.

In his delivery, Mr. Joseph said the oppression of the Haitian people comes from three places. He named the National Palace, the U.S. Embassy and an oligarchy of persons with business interests in Haiti.

The violent repression that has been allowed to take place in Haiti was also tied to the influx of heavy arms coming through Haiti's ports and circulating throughout the country. Terrorist gangs that claim to be sponsored by individuals within the Haitian State continue to terrorize the population as they protest for accountability.

Arnel Bélizaire roamed the streets of Raboteau. He visited Ami Métayer's tomb, whose assassination in September 2003 plunged Gonaives from political convulsions into incalculable consequences. He said he was ready to die in order to get the departure of Father Jovenel Moses. # Haiti

How the hell do they get away with pretending that they're not a puppet organization?:heh:

Funding
The OAS has two funds, one for the General Secretariat, and one for specific programs and initiatives. The General Assembly asks for contributions from each member country based on its capacity to pay. In 2018 the General Secretariat’s budget was $85 million of which the US contributed $50 million. In 2017 the US contributed $17 million to the fund for specific programmes which was almost a third of the total contributions for that year.[6]

The president of the national assembly moves the senate office, from Port-au-Prince, where the constitution establishes the government's basis for the rise of the city of Petionville. Despite the budget deficit which is one of the cornerstones of the economic crisis, the state continues to spend without thinking. This action shows how the state is disappearing

Senate Speaker Carl Murat Cantave has indicated that Senate offices will be transferred, at least for the time being, to a hotel in Pétionvillois that should be paid for with taxpayers' money. This decision is taken to circumvent the insecurity prevailing at the Bicentennial.

The elected officials desert the Bicentennial. Carl Murat Cantave, questioned about the fate of the inhabitants of La Saline who have no other option in the face of insecurity, said, cynically, that "someone who chooses to live in La Saline has made a choice and it's his choice. # Haiti
