Looking back to this beef could we say this had parallels to the drake vs meek in the sense that 50 had the industry behind him? I cant really say ja had the streets behind him but looking back I cant see any Ls Ja took outside of the music stuff.

This was always super corny too me, especially Em acting like Pac. This got so much radio rotation on Memphis radio and I learned how corporations really control hip-hop because it's no way a freestyle diss song is supposed to be getting heavy airplay like that. I knew then it was over for Murder Inc and they had no shot of winning with the deck stacked against em.
I never understood why Busta was on that track :laff:

Because Ja dissed Violator Management, who managed 50 & Busta. Busta and Violator Management head Chris Lighty were super tight.

In January 2003 gunmen ran up in Violator Management's offices and shot up the lobby. Then the very next month Busta's truck got shot up outside of Violator Management's offices.
Gunmen Open Fire On Violator Management Offices
Busta Rhymes' SUV Shot Up Outside Violator Offices

Murder Inc took credit for the shootings when Ja dissed on "Loose Change":

I'm the rapper that sings, totes guns and blings
And these Fed's can't discuss 'em
Cause Lighty's "Violatin" us, usin his powderpuff
(fukk you man) cryin bytch to Russell like:
They shootin', ah Chris ya shook
And got Bus' rhymin the same old hook

Like, they shootin, I ain't shoot up ya land
I'd a put ya in the coroner van

That's why Hail Mary was released. Here's a Billboard Magazine article from 2003 about the song.

Crazy part is Chris Lighty & Irv Gotti were super close before the 50 vs Murder Inc beef because they came up together early working at Def Jam. Ja was even on the Violator Management compilation albums.

Here's a 2003 XXL Magazine article about Chris Lighty and the beef

I never understood why Busta was on that track :laff:

I thought it was hilarious that busta was on this :russ:
One of the worst diss track of all time.

Busta was on 50s dikk heavy back then.
HELLA random :mindblown:

and he was talking MAD greasy :dahell:
Busta was on the track because Eminem, 50 Cent and Busta Rhymes were Aftermath's three biggest record label-mates at the time. I think it was just the label riding together much like how Tha Dogg Pound and Snoop Dogg joined 2Pac in his disses to Bad Boy.

That entire Invasion II mixtape... :wow:

ja threw the best punch of the entire fight with that "so what's haley gonna be when she grows up?" haymaker. and he still got mopped. they were just dancing on murder inc's grave at this point. nothing he could do to keep up.

"we'd all much rather get along than fight you. me and haley dance to your songs, we like you!" :deadmanny:

"and you dont really wanna step inside no mic booth. cmon now, you know they white boy will bite you." :whew:
"you'd bump this shyt too if we ain't diss you on it" :ehh::russ:
"every magazine i open you on your knees taking prayer pictures. and you aint even get shot yet, you scared nikka?" :mjlol:
"you put the 'E' before the 'D' because that's all you on." :lolbron:

hail mary was the weakest diss on the mixtape, outside of busta's verse.
