By dense I mean packed with multis and verbose, not abstract or hard to understand

I get that it's a generalization and don't apply to every track

Gotcha! That’s true. But majority of his music is pretty straight forward and to the point. But I get what you’re saying now :salute:

The vast majority of (the hardcore Nas and Lu stans) are pretty much nowhere to be found
discussing any new Hip-Hop, so when people try to make it a "I'm a fan of Hip-Hop and lyricism argument" it falls flat.

It's not about anyone being GOOD or GREAT because this discussion is not about SKILL, it's about who you PERSONALLY LIKE more.

We're not breaking down verses or discussing sample flips etc.
9/10 it's about the rapper that you listened to at a pivotal time in your life, which is fine. :yeshrug:

These discussions get weird because it turns into dismissing ALL OF HIP-HOP as being beneath Lupe Fiasco and Nas :pachaha: :deadmanny:

If J. Cole or Kendrick Lamar spit these very same bars, it would be proof of how much skill
they DON'T have, this "word play" is just bad. :scusthov:

This is what I mean when I say "Technique for the sake of Technique" does not make someone nice.
It's papoose-tier writing.
J Cole was spittin on Johnny P's Caddy. But those bars were literally 2005 Lupe level bars. Don't think I ever heard Duckworth spit anything like it. They both are better than Nas though.

This here.

GZA has Liquid Swords, and he's Wu, so people are going to favor him. That's clear. Liquid Swords is easily one of the best albums in Hip Hop of all-time, but I can't honestly say that GZA can outrap Lupe. If you threw on beats and sat them down and they went back and forth, I don’t think GZA would be able to keep up with Lupe, lyrically. Not today anyway. And I'm saying this as a HUGE fan of GZA.

GZA is more of a legend. Way more classic pedigree. But I don’t think he's a better lyricist than Lupe.

GZA can outrap Lupe. Did he or did he not make Liquid Swords? Just ran a rap clinic on that album over RZA beats on there. Lupe never did anything that well. Please disagree so you can look stupid to non delusional nikkas in here again.

All facts!

Honestly they’re both damn near the same person lol

Lupe is literally teaching courses at MIT. GZA has given lessons at universities.

Like I said earlier people bias is showing and most of them never listened and I both or follow GZA and Lupe to actually discuss their lyricism
Forreal breh. I don't see how one can be objective and like one but hate the other :russ:

One of my least favorite things about most rap discussion. People just wanna big up their favorites and dunk on everybody else

At the end of the day I believe Lupe can make a liquid swords but I don’t think GZA can make a song like Failure, Switch, He Say She Say, Hurt Me Soul, or an album like Tetsuo.

We talk about Liquid swords (classic) I also love legend of the liquid sword (underrated) but protools and beneath the surface aren’t really that good. :jbhmm:Lupe dropped lasers and drogas light but he also bounced back and with Tetsuo, DMIZ, and drogas wave. That’s not including loosies and pharoah height mixtape which all contains a high level of lyricism, storytelling, and imagination.

But I’m also a person who actually thinks Deck is the best lyricist in the Wu he just hasn’t made a classic album :hubie:

Lupe. Mural, Adoration of Magi, Manilla, Wav Files, Body of Work, The Coolest, Hurt Me Soul, etc. Lupe's pen is just smoother and slicker.

The reason we can't have these discussions is because anything contrary to Lupe
being the absolute best rapper in existence is called HATE.

Like does no one realize how insane this sounds ? :pachaha:

I'm not going to discuss it any further tho.

Go listen to MIKE, he's fukking dope, his pen is nice and he's still
good even though you didn't hear him in middle school or whatever.

Good Lord :dead: :dead: :dead:

Why can’t he? He made Testsuo and the Fahrenheit series. He’s touched subjects that deck has on that album. He’s proven he can. Can GZA do what Lupe did on Tetsuo? If you think so prove it.

If you didn’t listen to the album nor listened to enough of both I don’t think you’re qualified to even speak on or compare the two.

I feel like he's mentioned them before but I can't think of what song it would've been
Around hustlers? nikka Lupe WAS… lol nevermind :russ:

Keep that boy name clean. Un Kasa already dry snitched on Lupe in that Doggie Diamonds interview :lolbron:
