GZA or Lupe...who's the better lyricist?

GZA has Liquid Swords, and he's Wu, so people are going to favor him. That's clear. Liquid Swords is easily one of the best albums in Hip Hop of all-time, but I can't honestly say that GZA can outrap Lupe. If you threw on beats and sat them down and they went back and forth, I don’t think GZA would be able to keep up with Lupe, lyrically. Not today anyway. And I'm saying this as a HUGE fan of GZA.

GZA is more of a legend. Way more classic pedigree. But I don’t think he's a better lyricist than Lupe.

Lupe is undoubtely better, just cause Gza uses bigger words than most rappers(and thats not a point for him cause Lupe has a Vast and big vocab to)

doesnt mean hes better, metaphorically, wordplay, entendre and just the use of the literary techniques Lupe is better than him

nvm storytelling, introspective(which lupe isnt that relatable in but better than GZA), lupe is better

Funny, because GZA was one of the original MCs that hip hop "nerds" liked. I like Liquid Swordz more than any Lupe album but we can't bug off something like "Labels" and then turn a blind eye to a track like "Real Recognize Real".
