I actually respect his decision because he said no to the money and the job to pursue his passion. I mean some peoples passsion IS in fact money but thats not everyones and if he wants to rap, go rap. He's already proved to himself he can command six figures so why not?

cool

many have made such transitions...

the issue is athm said he made money to record...he really should use the money to market his record...

also, swagga...hood goes a long way...and it seems a very tough market to topple...

also, athm gotta think of varies ways to maximize the music money

Good for that dude and if he succeeds more power to him *daps*

BUT... i feel sorry for mass droves of high school dropouts thinking they can achieve the same without a damn thing to fall back on.

if he has done well in Wall Street the experience will always be there too fall back on. The public will only really know of his rap career if he makes it at all...in such a case he will be happy and he made the right decision.

If he doesnt make it and turns into a bum, he can say he tried and move back on to Wall Street. Cant view the link cause I'm at work though. What firm did he work for? Private Equity? Sales/Trading? I-Banking?

You need a group of followers to join you before even thinking of presueing this trap of a game.

No corporate cats or goons. Just people you can trust with your life.

Remember it this.

ill...:scusthov: I dont wanna be a rapper.

I just don't like my career choice...I wish I would have pursued a more creative career...even if it was in the IT/technology field. Graphic Design, Audio, Video...something.

The only thing that makes this not as "glamorous" as this guy giving up everything...is that he can always fall back on that experience when his rap career goes to shyt. He worked on wallstreet...obviously its not good for his career to get out of it like this...but hes not fukkd if he figured out he cant cut it in rap

But yea, i hate my life as well. Do what makes u happy...but always have a backup plan for when that plan goes to shyt and u realize it isnt a fukking movie and all stories like that dont have happy endings

:ld: what do you do?

too much work to get that 6 figgy deal. I mean he should keep it as a hobby and maybe turn it to a career if he gets buzz.

but with the way rap is going, i wouldn't be surprised if u need some other sh!t to get on nowadays. Like ur status would be "career job and Rapper". Rather than just rapper.

money ain't lookin like its there no more. other than like the top 5 ppl who wanna keep it that way.

I'd love to hear how that conversation with his parents went.

EDIT: AKA the people who paid for tuition at Duke

Lots of turnover in Wall Street...had nikkas who went to N.Y and couldnt handle that competitiveness & stress and ended up finding other career paths...

Sounds like he wasnt cut out for it...if making music makes him happy I say do it.
