All you need is a adblock/script block. All those anti virus software, etc will just slow your computer down.

it can mess with your regedit id just be cautious using it thats all.

The registry cleaner function is separate from the history cleaner and more importantly the registry cleaner ONLY deletes obsolete/inactive registry's that your computer is not using any more, again I've ran CC cleaner on probably over 20 + machines, and use it on my personal dozen of times a year, never had a issue with it

Adblock/scrpit block does not stop malware 100% of the times, and does not stop virus or other things people may download from files they put on there computers through emails or USBs. None of these programs slow down your system like that because they all don't run 24/7 , out of that list matter fact only AVG is the one that is constantly on.

Yea that's weird , I've heard of people going in and manually editing there registry and having issues but never with CC cleaner . I will admit this although I have never had issue with it, when you run it does give a small warning saying issues may happen and that you should back the files your about to clean ( and it gives you the option to do that) which i always do.

I'm not trying to get deep into this, but layering is key to keep your system and network clean.

Start with a trusted DNS service that will block malware/adware and phishing sites. Try OpenDNS if you want to customize what is blocked or GoogleDNS. It is simple as adding the IP address into your router or internet settings.

If your use Chrome, enable phishing and malware protection.

I use HitmanPro http://www.surfright.nl/en/hitmanpro as a secondary scanner because it's fast and uses multiple sources in the cloud for confirmation.

For your main protection check this site https://www.virusbtn.com/vb100/archive/summary and choose any vendor with 100% rating for your operating system. Most of them have a free Antivirus option.
