It's also a truly horrible idea, but it showcases the completely seemingly logical (but grossly misguided) ideas citizens have when faced with rising prices in the cost of living. Switzerland, like almost every other country in the last decade has seen a relatively dramatic rise in prices.

Their politicians say that they might fund this idea with a transaction tax on bankers. That would be like literally handing over the whole economy to banks. "If you don't bail us out the people won't get their peanuts."

Horrible idea.

And yet, they enjoy a higher standard of living, significantly less poverty, no gun crimes, low prison rates, significantly better education etc etc

<I'm being sarcastic>Oh wait, let us bail out the bankers, yet again, because we hoard 99% of the wealth </I'm being sarcastic>

fukk No. Everyone should work. It's all good if you want to give people a guaranteed income but everyone should be productive in the society.

What makes you think they won't work? Most people generally like being productive and working, as long as it's not shyt jobs that pay you slave wages like a certain country I know.....

I actually watched the video where he said every citizen working or not working would receive a set amount of money.

well it depends on how its done, the US actually has a guaranteed income, or a negative income tax http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Negative_income_tax in the earned income tax credit, but the only way to get the earned income credit is to actually work

but the negative income tax isnt socialism, it was proposed by milton friedman

obviously this idea is taking it to another level and seems to be a straight handout

The thing is, those on welfare in America, tend to avoid working so they don't lose the welfare, not because they are lazy or trying to game the system.

A minimum amount to live obviously does not fulfill the need to be productive, or focus on a trade or hobby, or to consume time meaningfully, or buy luxury items, or gain an education, or travel, etc

People will still have a desire to work. I generally believe that people like being productive. It's better than working 50hr work weeks at a slave wage, which is becoming common in countries like USA.

I aint even mad :manny:

@88m3 time to get a swiss passport or knock up some pawg(s) from there...

I'm already over sexed and over payed, why not right?

Met a cool chick from Switzerland on my flight to Rome a couple years ago. She was completely my type petite, educated, funny, and active.

When the time comes who knows. Might as well look at it like a business transaction, I want the whole deal.

Have a funny to relate. So my Columbiana comes over today and fukks me within an inch of life, she can't be more than 5'ft and 110 pounds but she puts so much effort in. I must've let her ride me for an hour. I felt bad though, I couldn't come on her face because the previous night I banged my European live-in girlfriend and got head in a les park from a random flyover state liberal arts degree holding ivory dime I met in Alphabet City.

I guess my point is there is no perfect girl but there is a perfect arrangement.

True story bro, most people like too work. There's a reason why there's a growing number of senior citizens still actively in the workforce, despite not being financial dependent on income. People just like to work. There's no fun in sitting on your ass all day..
