FSR3 isn't tied to any hardware so there's no reason it can't be integrated outside of the Pro.

This confuses me. The debacle of $1000 ps5(s) during covid proved that there is more than enough demand for the same console at a higher price point. And there are infinite fools willing to pay at that prcepoint.

Playstatiion could easily be a luxury item like tesla or an iphone.

I dont think PS6 sales would drop significantly even if the starting price was 1200 . Sony might as well just claim the extra 700 dollars as pure proffit the same way apple does with iphones. Japan is a captive market that wont even consider xbox(es) . And Playstation fans outide of japan are supreme enthusiasts of sony who will still spend on the console regardless.

Naw it’s proven time and time again there’s a sweet spot for the price of consoles.

enthusiasts would buy for that much but there aren’t enough of them to sustain an entire console generation.
