I think it's quite remarkable how we can post videos of Black kids being excited about them seeing a reflection of themselves depicted in media, one Black girl was literally moved to tears and then discount the idea that the media they're consuming has a strong influence on them.
The reason white people are so upset is because they have always understood the power of media and representation, they wield that shyt like a sword and they do NOT want their white children seeing Black Disney princesses, they do not want their white daughters seeing depictions of a Black woman being the object of someone's desire.

Representation MATTERS.
When young Black kids see characters that look like them, it empowers them. It boosts their self-esteem. White people understand this cause they control the media, they understand that making themselves everything from teh swashbuckling hero that gets the girls to the heroine that is kicking ass will empower white people to see themselves as superior. They also understand that positioning young black people to see themselves as nothing but negative to see themselves as inferior. That's why they make sure to keep this going in the media.
We're just seeing what a glitch in their matrix looks like...their malfunctioning cause they're so used to seeing white as the standard.
