No debate Heath Ledger takes this one, he was phenomenal in that role and surprised the fukk out of me.

Joker (Ledger) and Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men

Of this list, definitely Ledger. Javier Bardem should be on the list. Anton Chigurh is one of the most menacing characters in film history. Also loved Daniel Day-Lewis as Daniel Plainview in There Will Be Blood. That performance was flawless.

I know Ledger gets all the glory and due (rightfully) but Tom Hardy deserves major props for Bane. Somehow his performance has become underrated and more known as a meme than how good he was
He definitely provided a great aesthetic for Bane but I feel his portrayal as a villain in The Revenant was better

OP you definitely have to add Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber and Christoph Waltz as Hans Landa. Two I really liked were Christopher Lee in the lord of the rings and Brian Cox as Agamemnon in Troy. How does the film room feel about Geoffrey Rush in curse of the black pearl?
