With Conor he has already had prior hand-to-hand combat experience and he is quite young. Floyd is a 40 year old man, so expecting him to learn - in a matter of months to less than 2 years - BJJ or some form of MMA to contend with Conor is absurd. Aside from that, Conor called Mayweather out, Floyd did not call McGregor out. Floyd thought Conor was joking around trying to bring more light to MMA.
