There is nothing wrong with having allies while at the same time acting in your own self-interest.Nope you're wrong Jhoon. Do you really think a Cuban would take you over Cuba or a fellow cuban, or any other so called hispanic putting someone else over their people, especially black people? A good majority of those people are those of the diaspora but they put their homeland and ethnicity ahead of what should be done.
Until we get all of our own houses in order and unite as one and take this beast down it's every tribe for itself bruh
Why do people always propose this mutually exclusive choice to situations like this as if people are not capable of being multi-facet? This is like saying that many civil rights groups during the civils rights movements should have gotten rid of their asian, jewish, white allies who had a hand in helping get laws passed because they don't share the same skin color. As long as the same goal is shared, I personally don't see any reason to have any beef. That is if they are actively trying to be allies. So in this case, if there are hispanic folks who were there fighting along with black folks during their struggle, I see no reason to not reciprocate to some extent.
Despite what some folks on this board propose, I see no point in throwing folks under the buss who are willing to help in an overall common goal as long as the main focus isn't disrupted. In this case, the topic being police brutality and quick to deadly force towards minorities in particular.
Years ago police would have been above scrutiny...but giving them that privilege turned out to be very deadly and things are getting much too bloody. Too many bad cops, even good cops are bad cops if they don't uphold the law and turn in bad cops.
