Its not the fact that he is over top, its the fact that the supposedly Jerome character(future joker) is already acting like a full blown joker without the pale skin too early. In the comics pre joker was depicted as a comedian before the accident, but was not a full blown luantic until after it. I honestly think they got the Jerome character way too over the top for him not to be joker yet.

That makes a little more sense, but given the fact that they turned Jerome into a murderer in his first episode, you can't really do the slow burn with him (like someone else said, once Joker broke bad, there's no real gray area between general bad guy and full fledged psycho with him).

If you hadn't noticed yet, this show gives zero fukks about what happened in the comics. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if they introduce an adult dikk Grayson to train kid Bruce Wayne.

:deadmanny:

I wouldn't be surprised if at a scene in some hospital, baby Bruce runs past a woman giving birth with the doctor yelling "Just push Mrs. Grayson! Just push!"

Then he stops, eye fukks the camera with this look :jawalrus:.

That's pretty much the level this show operates at at this point.

People should consider this show to be like an alternate universe version of the characters. I'm glad they took some liberties to switch things up. Don't know why people want to see an adult Batman when he'd just beat everyone with ease and there would be no drama at all.

And on top of that if they did everything like it was in the comics, it'd be a boring show because you'd know exactly how everything plays out. That's one thing that made Hannibal such a dope show; they didn't mind remixing the books and the movies and making their own stories.

Didn't they introduced the Graysons already in season one?

YOu are taking one of several origins for The Joker.
Another origin had him as the costumed villain The Red Hood who was a violent gangster type of crook.
You can't keep making assumptions about how these characters are supposed to act or what their origins are or are going to be.
If Jerome is going to be the Joker then it is reasonable to assume that he goes the Ledger route and never falls into the chemicals and instead just paints his face and dyes his hair. This aint the comics or movies or animated shows...pretty much anything can happen with these characters on this show.

Yeah the circus that the Flying Grayson's worked at came to Gotham in Season 1. Think they revealed that Mama Grayson was pregnant at the end of the episode too.
