Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Ok, I'm on mobile so my replies are gonna be separate.

The first time the blue screen came up, I took a pic of it and the reasoning was a 'bad pool header' ... but now for whatever reason .. now there's no reason listed when the blue screen pops up. It just goes blue, and then restarts. :sadcam:

I honestly don't even know what a mini dump file is.

I put a brand new 2tb hard drive in. (Seagate) and a brand new video card in also. Motherboard is an Asus.

Also... last night, after googling it and doing some troubleshooting, I decided to reinstall windows 7 .. to see if that would help.. and now I'm not even able to do that. Midway through the installation, it stops and says something ailing the lines of 'windows wasn't able to complete installation. (It was another blue screen. Different this time tho.. the white text only took up like a quarter of the page.)

I'm confused brehs. :sadcam:

:piss:

Sounds like your harddrive could be the cause to me, that or your rig isn't getting enough power with the new video card.

Is the drive your main or a secondary? If it's a secondary try removing it and seeing if your PC will run without it.

yeah, you can't just upgrade your vid card without considering your psu specs. especially if you have some bo-bo psu

I feel like I have to mention it every time someone wants to upgrade their graphics card

Damn. So whats my next step? I upgraded the video card cause the other one I had went to shyt. I got that new hard drive at the same time. Could it be they're not compatible?

well you need to figure out what your issue is. it might have nothing to do with your psu. like people have said, you need to see exactly what the blue screen is saying, and go from there (google the error code, and you'll probably find some answers)

but in general you need to know the specs of your psu. and not just how many watts it's rated at. your psu should have a label on it like this:

psu_specs.jpg

with graphics cards it's usually important to see how many amps are on the +12v rail. in that example it's 52 amps (a pretty high number). some psu's have more than one +12v rail. then you want to see what your graphics card recommends. for example this card recommends:

Minimum of a 500 Watt power supply.

(Minimum recommended power supply with +12 Volt current rating of 30 Amps.)

now know that the recommended specs are usually a little more than what you really need. but if you're way under the number it could be a problem. plus adding additional hdd also requires more power. not a lot, but they say it was a straw that broke jay-z's back. so it's probably a good idea to have a little more power than you 'need'

edit: it's not really a question of "compatibility", but rather just the amount of power required. but again, your first step needs to be identifying the cause of the problem, and that could very well have nothing to do with your psu
