Damn brehs, I got hit with a dose of reality yesterday. So I had let myself get out of shape due to stress from my last job and personal ish going on. Went from 225 to 290 over the past five years (I'm 6'3" and fairly muscular former athlete, but a lot of that weight I gained was fat too.) I decided I was gonna change things and finally get right for good. I've lost about 10 pounds already just by changing my diet :blessed:

One of the things I had been doing to get back in shape was hooping again. I went to the LA Fitness near my parents house across from my old high school and I see some kids hooping on the court. I figured I'd just shoot by myself on the other side while they do their thing. One of the cats asked if I wanted to play one on one. Kid is kinda tall and probably 17 or so, so I'm thinking "yeah, let me give this young blood that work :youngsabo: "

So I'm doing my thing at first. He tries to get fancy and misses. I take the ball and post the young breh up and hit him with that KG fadeway.

He tries to drive on me and I get him with that lock down defense.

Then I hit a 3 off the ball check.

Ya boy feeling good at first......then my lack of conditioning caught up with me. Breh starts blowing past me cause I can't keep up no more. He's putting the ball between my legs, doing 360 layups, floaters, etc. :sadcam:

We were playing to 10. I started 3-0. It ended 3-10 :to:

Message to all my brehs in their mid to late 20s like me, take your health and fitness seriously. We too young to even be anywhere close to :flabbynsick: status. I'm sticking with it though. I'll definitely get back to where I need to soon. This fitness thing is a lifestyle now :salute:
Are you waiting for the next hurricane to come through Dallas to sign up for high school basketball? :lolbron:

Funny story OP.
I was telling my mans that he gonna have to keep in shape to keep up with HS kids cause these nikkas play BBall all day every day and don't have crazy responsibilities yet. He brushed it off on some "I ain't losing to no teenager" that reality check is gonna HURT!!!
I'm in good shape but at 31 I've been smoking weed for about 20 years . haven't got schooled or dunked on yet but have definitely faked an injury or 2 ...full court ain't what it used to be luckily I can still play a 4 or 5 and just pivot for a bully layup

Breh I feel it. In HS I played multiple sports (wasn’t that good but Fck it) and always had some sort of practice. Being around the brehs we was always in competition. Weights, conditioning, games, females, whatever. Even in college I switch to just weights and hooping on the side to look good for these hoes.

Now I’m in this 9-5 and shyt just ain’t the same. Off top you the most fit Nikka so lowers the motivation a bit. Why squat 315 when I can just maintain at 225, and STILL be the most chiseled breh when I step out?

For me it’s mainly diet. I still got it in me to be active/lift weights and hoop but my diet is spotty:flabbynsick:

Diet is what ultimately got me. Funny thing is, I never really stopped working out at any point in my life. I just let my bad diet get the best of me. I'd have times where I'd lift 3-4 times a week, but my post workout meals were pizza, fast food, etc. I'd always use the excuse that I was lifting so those calories would automatically become muscle. Bro-science at it's finest lol
