Don't try to low self esteem this convo by showing me 60-90/hr. I know all about Heavy Equipment and Prevailing Wage hahahaha

The highest paid Truckers (Steel hauling, Car Hauling, and Tanker) make 125k + a year, and if you're an Owner Operator it's 200k +

Have you ever been in the Trucking industry? Cause you sound extremely ignorant

So how would robotic trucks working in a Local job, or Over the road jobs in large cities? I'm waiting :jbhmm:

I said the same thing last year in anther thread there is no way a robotic truck can do local driving or OTR in cities like Chicago,ATL and NYC and jobs like pepsi, coca cola,dr,pepper etc need people to drive local

Exactly. For those Pepsi, Coca Cola runs, it is extremely high traffic with cars and people. Yeah when those robotic trucks become human bulldozers, that experiment would be over in a week :mjlol:

his best bet is getting his CDL through company just don't go to CR England :scust: or swift :scust: he would have to work for the company for a year before he leave but if you work with a good company the year would fly by I personally would go with Roehl or USA truck,TMC is ok but I heard too many racist stories about TMC cacs in iowa EDIT: I didn't even read it yeah I went to a school so I could pick the company I wanted to work for he should go to a good trucking school so he can pick the company he likes the best

I did 240 hours basically 6 weeks 5 weeks would be ok he should get his Permit before going to school so he can get behind the wheel sooner and make sure the classes are small so he can get a lot of hours driving

It depends what you prefer
- Pay up front with either your own money or a loan, and pay it back while working?
- Go to a company with $0 up front cost, and they take it out of your paycheck spreading out for about 8 months

I rather you go to the $0 up front cost and learn through a company. Most likely you would have to sign a 8 month contract, but 8 months flies by, and you'll be debt free after that time

Here's a list of companies to call. Start having your laptop with your cell phone near you and start calling

- Celadon
- Schneider
- CRST
- Prime
- Roehl
- Knight Transportation
- Western Express
- US express
- TMC
- Stevens Transport
- Conway

And you being in Alaska isn't a problem. The companies would usually pay for a plane ticket to the nearest state like Washington, Idaho, or Oregon. And call them, they might even have a branch in Alaska. Since your cousin already has some experience driving trucks, he should get his CDL in no time

so u didn't go to a school/course? how did u go about getting your cdl?

You can set up your road test with a school a few weeks/months in advance and only pay as you go for hourly lessons like I did. I scheduled my road test in October, was taking lessons from June til October. Did about 8 lessons, $80/hr. Passed my road test. Didn't have to pay thousands of dollars for a school. But then again, I wasn't looking to go over the road. Just wanted my CDL for local and to better my chances of getting driving jobs period. So I guess it all depends on your end game.

Terrible advice. Don't set that man up to fail. Everyone knows CRST is the worst company ever.
