Gerald Willis has a perfect opp to get snaps, we are bad @ DT after Wilkins. didnt think the Ravens were a fit, hes an upfield guy in a 4-3 not a 3-4 end

Trent Harris could be a useful backup OLB, not the best athlete but he can rush the passer a bit and is a good tackler. lots of young guys will play in the front 7. McMillian needs to do a bit more, looks like a 2 down guy that you worry about on 3rd
I don’t think McMillan is in the future plans either tbh. Wouldn’t surprise me if they tried to trade him off too

This rebuild is exactly what the Dolphins should have done after Marino retired.
And when they spent years being a .500 team with Jay Fiedler....they should have done this rebuild after HE left.

Miami is finally doing what they should have done...about 4-5 times since 1999.

Off topic, but fairly interesting to me: the last time Miami had an offense that scored 400 points in a season was 1986. Granted, 400 points is an arbitrary number, but even Baltimore almost got there last year.

I have no idea why we cut Vincent Taylor. He must have a secret injury, he is an impactful DT.

Yeah, I know fans are hoping for 2-4 wins but even with the stripping of the roster, our schedule has soft spots, 6-7 wins is......... damn.......... possible.

The question is... Is there any bad team that would pass on a QB at 1st?

Jets, maybe?

Jessie Davis moving to left tackle is the funniest thing I ever heard. Fitz is dead by the 4th quarter.

Just saying he doesn't have a shot at going number 1 if he's stays another year, everyone knows it's Lawrence's time
That’s for the best, #1 pick means more expectations. I wouldn’t mind if the falcons lost to draft him and have him mentored by matty ice

The Miami Dolphins are ranked No. 32 in ESPN's preseason Football Power Index. Here's everything you need to know about the Dolphins heading into the 2019 NFL season:

The big question: Will Josh Rosenshow enough to become the Dolphins' starting QB in 2019 and beyond?
The Dolphins don't want to rush Rosen onto the field and the fact he isn't starting Week 1 proves it. Rosen has shown considerable improvement in recent weeks but coach Brian Flores believes he still isn't a better option than Ryan Fitzpatrick right now. The biggest factor here is the rebuilding Dolphins haven't given Rosen a roster that will allow him a chance to succeed. He could have the NFL's worst offensive line and a subpar supporting cast for the second consecutive season. Rosen has a certain standard of consistency he must reach before he is considered the Dolphins QB of the future, but Miami might have already decided to draft a quarterback in 2020. -- Cameron Wolfe

Offseason in a nutshell
The Dolphins went all-in on on a full-scale rebuild. So, yes, the 2019 season is likely to be rough rather than mediocre. Dumping quarterback Ryan Tannehill and choosing not to re-sign DE Cameron Wake and OT Ja'Wuan James signaled a new era where the focus is becoming a contender in 2021 more than 2019. But choosing to trade LT Laremy Tunsil and WR Kenny Stills shows the Dolphins are a strong candidate for the No.1 overall pick in 2020 to draft their quarterback of the future. Dolphins GM Chris Grier is expected to have more than $100 million in salary-cap space and at least 12 draft picks in 2020, when the team can be more aggressive going after big-name free agents. -- Wolfe

Inside the Dolphins' schedule
Most important game: Week 2 at home against the Patriots. It's the game folks circle on the calendar in Miami every season and it gains added significance because it will be first-year head coach Brian Flores' first game against his mentor, Bill Belichick. The Dolphins have had tremendous success against the Patriots in Miami in recent years -- most notably the Miami Miracle last December -- and we will see if that continues.

Toughest stretch: The Dolphins face Baltimore, New England, Dallas and the L.A. Chargers -- all 2018 playoff teams -- in September, but the benefit is three of the four games will be in the blistering Miami heat.

Over or under 5.4 wins? Under. The Dolphins are likely to be one of the NFL's worst teams -- expecting them to be even a five-win team after their offseason veteran purge seems like a stretch. The Dolphins' offense looks as if it will be hard to watch because of a troublesome offensive line. It's going to be a tough going in 2019. -- Wolfe

Schedule ranking: No. 18
Welcome to the AFC East, where even the worst projected team has an easier-than-average projected schedule. That's because the Bills and Jets aren't forecast to be very good, either, plus all the AFC East teams get easy projected games against the bottom of the NFC East. We'll see if it's true that Miami has an advantage in the early-season humidity, because four of the Dolphins' first five games come at home. But they also have to go to cold New York and New England for three games in December. -- Football Outsiders | See the full 1-32 ranking

Breakout fantasy star: TE Mike Gesicki
i
Gesicki was scooped up in the second round of the 2018 draft and -- as often the case for rookie tight ends -- did very little in his first season. Gesicki was limited to 202 yards on 32 targets, struggling to 9.2 yards per reception (fourth lowest) and 6.3 YPT (eighth lowest). Gesicki's pedigree of speed and athleticism -- coupled with Miami's shaky group of offensive weapons -- should lead to a boost in targets in his second season. -- Mike Clay | More fantasy coverage

Bold prediction: Don't test Howard
i
Dolphins cornerback Xavien Howardwill lead the NFL in interceptions for the second consecutive season. Howard had seven interceptions in 12 games last season and has 11 over his past 17 games. Teams might try to avoid Howard this season, but he will shadow No. 1 receivers and aim to make quarterbacks pay when they test him. -- Wolfe

First-year head coach Brian Flores said Rosen's preseason performance made it "harder" for him to name veteran journeyman Ryan Fitzpatrick the Dolphins' Week 1 starter, but he has also regularly downplayed the possibility of Rosen usurping his elder early in 2019. Offensive coordinator Chad O'Shea had similar sentiments on Tuesday, telling reporters the 22-year-old trade acquisition has yet to master Miami's offense entering the season.

"Josh is -- as we've talked about -- he's still learning the offense," O'Shea said, per The Palm Beach Post. "He's doing a good job on all of the things that aren't the physical part of the game he's improving on, whether it be his awareness on the field, his overall familiarity with the offense, his fundamentals that he needs to work on, just like all the other players need to work on. He's in the same position a lot of other players are. There are just a few fundamentals we're really concentrating on with him."

According to The Post's Joe Schad, Rosen's "teammates and coaches" seem to agree the ex-Arizona Cardinals prospect isn't ready for the starting spotlight. Whether or not that's true or justified, the guys with the most pull regarding the Dolphins' offense -- Flores and O'Shea chief among them -- appear to be on the same page, wasting no opportunity to talk up Fitzpatrick's best characteristics or the benefits of developing young quarterbacks slowly.

"A case could be made that the younger guy's not ready," Flores said rather sternly in late August. "I think, a lot of times, and I understand that thought process (of playing the younger QB to develop him), but I'm the one dealing with the individual player, and sometimes guys just aren't ready."

The coach previously said in July that Fitzpatrick was "leading the way" in the QB room and said earlier in August he wouldn't "anoint or crown" Rosen because of a few days of good practice.

Drafted 10th overall by the Cardinals in 2018, Rosen started 13 games for Arizona as a rookie, throwing 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions amid a depleted supporting cast on a now-overhauled 3-13 roster. Replaced by 2019's No. 1 pick, Kyler Murray, and dealt to Miami at the draft in exchange for second- and fifth-round picks, he officially joined the Dolphins just over a month after the 36-year-old Fitzpatrick signed with the team as a free agent.

I like this, he's getting 3yr 15M.
He's not great but good enough. If he's the weakest link in our OL, we'll have a good OL. The problem now is that he's the best lineman right now. That single-handily explains why our line sucks :mjcry:

We need to get some tackles to move him back to guard.
