Just playing devil's advocate maybe, but I dunno, man. It obviously makes us MUCH better in the short term and basically OKC of the East in the sense that we're the lower seed team that no one wants to play (assuming we're healthy). But moving forward, we're obviously gonna have to give him close to max money, also will re-sign Whiteside next summer, presumably. That's a LOT of money tied to a Dragic/Whiteside/Bosh core, with Bosh being 32 and Dragic being 30 then. All but eliminates us from any of the major FA's in 2016 free agency and I'm not sure that core is enough to get over the hump, even in the East. At least we get Dragic's bird rights though, which offers a little more flexibility. We shall see, but in the meantime, at least we'll be exciting to watch and have a legit shot at making some noise come playoff time.
