Apparently two different versions of Tournament of Champions, theatre version and extended. I saw the extended, plot was almost nonsense but the rooms themselves were visually very striking again. I enjoyed both a lot.

It changes the plot slightly. I think it's better, but I definitely like the ending of the Theatrical more though...

Most of the plot / the rooms are the same but extended cut gives different information about the corporation responsible for the rooms and it’s future.

not the same impact as Saw franchise which was novel for its time I guess.

Nah, the extended didn't have any more rooms just some backstory into who is creating the puzzles.

Only the "final" room is different, and the ending is completely different. But there's an underlying backstory explored that delves into the creation of the puzzles/rooms.
