You don't seem to be paying attention to what I'm typing.

"using discs will become obsolete."

The internet is at that point. Most of the developed world has very fast internet speeds. American companies are simply dragging their feet.
no it isn't :comeon:

this has nothing to do with gaming. games dont even use up all the blu ray and companies have no incentive to spend more money creating enough assets to fill up 300GB to 1TB of space while charging $60 at a development time of 2-3 years.

this is probably about 4k video. trying to get dummies to throw their blu rays out and 1080p tvs out in favor of a 4ktv and 4k player capable of running these disks

:banderas: Jeezus Christ. We know that Blu-ray's can hold up to 50+ GB of data.... I cannot imagine all the shyt we can cram on these new discs once they hit the streets and as far as gaming is concerned it's a fukking gamechanger. they'll never have to complain about not having space to put all the stuff on a game again...

4k-8k resolution... with and AD disc... im just looking at it like damn.... why couldnt this come out sooner....? Thoughts?
do you know the capabilities that games can now hold...

I want to meet the person 10 years down the line who will still have physical copies of a movie collection.

At this point, its still amazes me how many people collect movies. We were too broke when i was growing up to even afford a VCR-we all knew that person who had like 40 VHS tapes. Then 200 DVDs, and now Blu-rays.

Yall shouldnt be surprised, BRD was never anything but an intro step into HD, there were larger storage media in the works years ago, protein discs and shyt.

It dont matter though, because digital distro is the only thing that's gonna matter soon :lolbron: nobodys gonna own shyt

Yep, a lot of these console gaming dudes dont know whats up... infact since budgets are gonna have to fall games might plateau in terms of file size too, with less cutscenes and audio...

I agree for the most part, however there be those that have privacy/security concerns and want data on a physical piece of media...and some also want the novelty of a disc and case.

I like owning dvds and there's many still that like having a physical collection.

There is still a massive demand for physical media. Why do you think they all make :flabbynsick: DVDs?

For old people that don't get digital distro and people that don't like the way its distributed... but you can't deny the overall trend toward digital. All the game platforms sell digital shyt now. Itunes is huge, streaming and video on demand killed rentals and are coming for TV next.

UUUggghhh im not saying a digital system is all bad but there should always be an option of buying it on a disc. people out in rural areas dont have high speed internet and no they are fukking with throttling netflix and sending you copyright claims because you use torrents knowing exactly what you download over your lines. It's nice that people still have the option. And you say that games can be packed on a blu-ray disc and it's ok it's enough. but dude there's always more you can put into a game with higher storage disc wise. Why the move to a digital download future. You cant even swap out the xbox one HDD.... What happens when you fill it all up? I'd rather use Disc's it's just an option. damn.
