Good opinion piece on why the WWE should shutdown it's PC.

I read it twice...makes me think of all the NXT ppl we want to get called up already. Especially the ones with zero experience before WWE/NXT.

Cliffs
  • WWE is in trouble in 15 years when the starts of the Attitude Era, Ruthless Aggression era are too old to come back.
  • WWE is also in trouble when the PC Era stars retire and all go part time.
  • WWE PC has a horrible record of creating top guys
  • FCW, OWV worked out fine, but, WWE wanted to standardize the way you train WWE talent
  • They want guys from scratch, but, male top athletes can do something else in sports and make way more money and don't have to fear bad booking
  • It's worked out great for women and WWE female superstars, but, they are a small piece of the pie and they still only have one crossover star in Rousey who famous before WWE

I thought dude was on some bullshyt til I read this part;

According to Wikipedia, 52 wrestlers have graduated from the PC and competed either in NXT or the main roster between 2013 and 2022. Of those 52, 19 are still with the company. Of those 19, only 9 are on the main roster. They are:

  • Braun Strowman
  • Chad Gable
  • Angelo Dawkins & Montez Ford
  • Otis
  • Veer Mahaan
  • Omos
  • Solo Sikoa
  • Xyon Quinn
Of those 9, only Braun Strownman has ever won a World Championship. Strowman is also the only one to win the IC title. Solo Sikoa wrestled for 3 years before joining WWE and is the son of Rikishi, brother to the Usos and cousin to Roman Reigns. He would have fit right in to the FCW.

This is a very bad track record for 10 years of time invested. We have Chad Gable who is an extremely talented performer but hasn’t been pushed like a star. We have some tag teams and some big dudes but do any of these men seriously move the needle? If most of them retired tomorrow, would it hurt the business? Would they be able to come back in 5-10 years to a hero’s return? The answer is No. For the other 10 who are currently in NXT, it’s too soon to tell for most. Maybe one of them will break through, but let’s move on.

Time to start that Montez Ford solo push.

And don't bring up indy wrestlers, the point of the article is that the PC isn't working. Not that the WWE is not going be able to get talent from the Indys.

If you love wrestling and pursued it on your own outside of the WWE system, then I’m not counting you because there isn’t a need for a PC to find these kinds of talents. FCW and OVW were a way to polish young wrestlers who had picked up “bad habits” on the independent scene and show them how WWE wants them to wrestle.

Basically he thinks WWE should get rid of the PC and just grab indy guys and "clean up" some of their bad habits.

:francis: If we keeping it a buck, the real performance centers are the indies which tends to be poked and picked apart.

The Performance Center is basically the wrestling equivalent of the "lab". Cooking up albums and praying they actually get released. Until then, you have to listen to leaks and mixtapes (NXT).

They keep bigging up all these news guys/girls they sign & can't even make it to levelup on the network
I think it just highlights how hard it's really to build a wrestler from the complete ground up with no type of experiences whatsoever
You going to take more L's than W's
You watch NXT & its NXT UK mixed with lower-level indie guys & girls :manny: in terms of actually homegrown talent its Tiffany Stratton, OTM (Out The Mud crew) Oba Femi who just got on tv really & Tony D'Angelo
:scust:Braun is the closest 100% homegrown main event male talent they have made

Bullshyt.
The entire upper card in the WWE at this point are people who trained in Florida at some point. THE WHOLE TOP OF THE CARD, male and female.

List over here talmbout Otis and Omos but conveniently leaving out that the top women in the company all came out of NXT? Rhea. Bianca. Charlotte. Bayley. Sasha. Becky.

Trying to pull some exclusionary fine print about indy wrestlers like even the ones they went and got didn't end up in a better position than they were before. We gonna act like El Generico would have been getting Ole chants at Wrestlemania :francis:

Disingenuous-ass article.

We see what pulling people straight from the indy scene and throwing them on TV looks like. It looks like AEW Rampage. And don't nobody watch Rampage.

NXT with the NIL program, with Shawn at the helm and Haitch on main is going to produce different outcomes real soon. You can't look at guys like Oba Femi or Bron Breakker, conclude there's not going to be any top tier heavyweight men produced there, and then say it's time to close up shop.

I mean shyt, they are already improving some of these folks from the indies like, Lexis King and soon Jade Cargill.
