Maybe. But Garappolo didn't look this good here, either.

He fits the scheme of what the offensive direction needs. But he's uniquiely suited for that scheme as well. He can be a good fit offensively without it being simply that he is a fit that makes him good.

There is no better situation in the league than Santa Clara. They are fukking stacked everywhere. ANY haflway decent QB would thrive there.

The fact Trey Lance was third string there is a glaring sign of how atrocious he must have looked. If Purdy gets hurt this season, I bet they barely miss a beat with Darnold.

And I'm not saying this to shyt on Purdy, but it's tough to fully judge him considering his situation.

Remember the season Matt Ryan looked like the best player in the NFL? Shanny was his coach. That guy is a QB whisperer.

People used to shyt on him because he wasn't winning with CJ Beathard and Nick Mullens.
