I have to agree with people saying Naruto was soft in comparison. Gon had that Goku(or is that Ging?) streak where he’d sacrifice anything to win when the time called for it.

Take the fight vs Pitou, Gon sacrificed his future life to finance that fight. Naruto would never go that far. He was still trying to save everyone even as an adult. Kurama had to make the hard decision.

Gon is unbelievably unique in his moral compass especially for shounen. He’s a great example of someone who is kind person but not a good one.

Denji, from Chainsaw Man, is way more of Gon’s speed.

His uniqueness he believes the good in people and willing to engage in dialog about it. And hell, willing to go extra mile on tht.

Gon is a kind person. He's pure like a child. Basically proto-Luffy.
