Shiit i wouldn’t have even been mad if Star Is Born won. It was a very good movie.
But Bohemian Rhapsody as a FILM was mediocre. Remi saved it, but he didn’t save it to the herculean feat that it was TOUCHING Black Panther. It wasn’t better than Black KKKlansmen either, but these awards shows been shytting on Spike since forever.

It was a “makeup” win for them not awarding him the prize for Moonlight, which he went onto win the Oscar for. That Green Book shyt is Driving Mr Daisy status and another poster even pointed out that the family of Shirley was pissed at the portrayal.

Shirley’s nephew Edwin Shirley III, and his 82-year-old brother, Maurice Shirley, both took issue with several aspects of Green Book: Shirley did not consider Tony Lip a close friend, as the movie suggests. He was always close to his family and brothers, despite a line of dialogue in the movie suggesting he’d lost track of them. He never professed to be embarrassed about his blackness or felt estranged from his race. Maurice Shirley called the movie’s portrayal of his brother “a symphony of lies.”

So the movie not only lied about the “friendship” between the Cac and the black man, it made the black man out to have c00nish and self hating tendencies that he NEVER professed in real life.

For the Oscars the Nomination for Black Panther IS the award. They weren’t gonna actually give it Best Picture. If a comic book movie WINS best picture best believe it’ll have a white leading cast.
