don't let that guy steer you away from exploring the rest of the city. my advice would be to go outside of the quarter into the marigny. also uptown. the quarter is wack and it's the same old shyt all the time. i wish there was some specific show i could point you towards but i can't think of any this weekend. i know i gotta play twice on saturday and twice on friday and once on sunday but i can't think of any big shows. it depends on what you want to see really. if you want that typical club bullshyt, i can't really help you out...

Yea i wasnt in the 8th for like 30 seconds and a nikka came scopin us out in the car...he drove off, and me and my homeboy was like"i bet he come back in front of us and try to jack us, lets make the block and park"

30 secs later that nikka came back at a way where he coulda stopped in front the car and robbed us...but we was a block down watchin him on some shyt...

then we got the hood pass and was on the porch eatin food with some hoes..

But man, if you dont know no N.O. nikkas, stay in the tourist area...cuz them nikkas are 100% grimey and will get it how they live.

well, everything in the quarter minus a few places are going to be over priced in regards to food, and the quality isn't going to be as good as if you decided to eat somewhere outside the quarter. but, you can try coop's on decatur just for some typical food but i gotta to warn you it's probably going to be packed for the classic. there's lil' dizzy's cafe on esplanade, never been there but my father went there when he came to visit me last month and he said it was good. then there's the typical tourist spots like commander's palace uptown on washington avenue. or you could go all the way uptown where st. charles ends and turns into carollton and eat somewhere on oak street. cooter brown's is up there and they've got cheap oysters on fridays i believe. if you want a po boy and don't want to go to the little corner stores in certain locations, you can go down magazine street. in fact, just go down magazine street for mostly any type of food you want. they've got a few local things but then they've also got a lot of non-local typical food places you can eat at...

what type of bar crowd do you like? and do you like bars with live music?

lmao, that whole "i can't go to this ward" shyt started because the people were from here. it doesn't happen to people that aren't from here. plus, that only happens when you have some sort of reputation nowadays. like there's this guy who i play with who's from here and he couldn't go into the 6th ward for a while because of something one of his cousins did. besides, the 8th ward is big and there are plenty of nice areas you can go to. my only advice would be not to go between st. claude and claiborne in the middle of the night if you're not from here. especially if you're just walking around. but who the hell would walk around an area with homes at 8pm at night? there would be no reason for him to go out there because there's nothing but homes and random stores in this area...
