Let me first start off by saying I don't like to go to restaurants in general. I'd rather cook at home and rarely find the food/service worth the $ spent. And I really can do without the fake hospitality. Them places where you make your order and pay, pickup your food and bus your own table are more up my alley, them local joints Mex, bbq, soul etc.
But buffets in particular especially rub me the wrong way. Usually I end up going when invited by a friend or family on the spot and can't find a way out of it. Recently ended up at Golden Corral, and while I have no complaints about the food selection, left feeling
There's always them tables full of big motherfukkers just hanging out looking like
waiting for room to open up in their guts. They still waiting and we done ate and left. Or that one dude solo with two plates at a time going for a personal best
They got us all crammed into a stuffy room in the back
a sickening display. Servers at these places surely have stories for days, I can only imagine.
Then after getting full after two plates I always feel like I ain't pull my weight (and wanna get my 15-18 dollars worth
), so go for thirds and end up wasting it all, spread it around my plate so it looks like I tried
An hour or so later at home I'm like damn I should have had more of that brisket and fried okra
