Although Gareth Edwards did say that they all retain traits to certain other monsters in the franchise. I see a lot of Rodan, Mothra, and Megaguirus in the flying monster and a lot of Gigan, Kumonga, and Kamacurus in the other monster. Gareth also said that if there is a sequel (and pray to whatever deity you believe in that there will be) it will be a Destroy All Monsters type of movie more than likely featuring some of Godzilla's classic foes:

EDIT - Oh yeah, and the MUTO viral marketing website (from last December) somewhat hinted that there are possibly other monsters dwelling out there. When you type in King Ghidorah, Mothra, Rodan, Anguirus, Manda, Kumonga, Baragon, Titanosaurus, or Gigan into the database, you got a response back saying "We cannot confirm or deny the existence of this life form."

This kid, the main actor(I think) really made a nice comeup always liked his acting chops.

shyt had a ridiculous plot with aliens/mutants that I thought was whack as fukk, but I have a weird appreciation for it now.

I loved the Final Wars version of Gigan. He reminded me of that over confident a$$hole that talks shyt and always gets laid out within seconds. His first appearance in the movie, when he ties up Godzilla and reels him in, he's jumping up and down like a child celebrating...only to get his head blown off by Godzilla's ray. Then, he comes back later, fights Mothra and Godzilla, dispatches Mothra and is like "Take that! *turns around to leave when something hits him so he turns back around* Alright who hit me? C'mon muthafukka, who the fu-"*head falls off again*
