I like the show, but I'm not feeling Forest Whitaker playing this gangsta character,

he's not able to make it believable to me.

But overall though I like the show, its good.

there's a few moments though where the acting was a bit lackluster, a bit dry.

The Land That Time Forgot
Watched the first two episodes and didn't love it.

Early 1960s Harlem is a very soulful place, despite the challenges. I didn't get any of that feel, so far.

The show runners are Paul Eckstein and Chris Brancato from the "Narcos" team. They were also part
of the production team behind the previous Bumpy Johnson film "Hoodlum," which starred Laurence Fishburne, which was unmemorable.

Forrest is good. Cast is top-notch. Writing and line deliveries so-so.

Will give it time, but it does irk me that Bumpy Johnson gets a network series before Malcolm X and Adam Clayton Powell do (they've only become historic second bananas to a Bumpy during this celebratory 21st Century era for black hustlers, drug dealers and gangs...).

You want them to do a show about Adam Clayton and get no ratings? I'm sorry but you know what this game is about.

For anyone who knows about their respective life stories, Adam Clayton Powell's bio dumps all over Bumpy Johnson's.

For those that know the BUSINESS (not the "game"...), black period pieces generally do not perform well no matter the medium, so a Bumpy Johnson series isn't for a ratings play.

You'd be better off turning the Azie Faison/Rich Porter/Alpo Martinez/Paid in Full story into a series, if you're looking for Harlem drug stories to elevate for revenue, since the story is more current, even on The Coli.

Hell, the Bumpy Johnson film Hoodlum made half the money ($24M) in 1997 that the film Malcolm X made ($48M) in 1992. And the same team that made the low-performing Bumpy film is behind this Epix series.

I'm sorry. Bumpy vs Adam is going to be a no brainer for any executive deciding what script to go with.
