I don't see Bumpy as a lackey, I think he just plays by mob rules so he can keep his connect.
It seems to me that Bumpy is as powerful as Chin and Bonano; only Paul Sorvino's character is above them.
:ld:

HES NOT AS POWERFUL AS THEM BECAUSE
ONE IS DICTATING WHO HE CAN BUY DOPE FROM
AND THE OTHER IS HIS DOPE SUPPLIER.

I WOULDNT CALL HIM A LACKEY THOUGH.

They have the dope, but Bumpy has the real estate. The mob was never able to take Harlem, even by force, while Bumpy was alive.

The 5 Boroughs
bumpy and lucky luciano were close breh

He controlled much of Harlem and maintained a strong relationship with mob kingpin Charles “Lucky” Luciano. “My grandfather and Lucky had respect for each other,” Raymond Anthony Hatcher Johnson, a musician and Bumpy’s great-grandson, told The Post. “They played chess together in public, outside of the old YMCA on 135th Street.”

Im not sire if it was Lucky or Costello but Bumpy saved one of their lives when they was locked up and the 5 families always appreciate that and Bumpy was no snitch

A lot of historical inaccuracies but this show is so dope! :banderas: We need a series on the Philadelphia Black Mafia. :demonic:

I use to read a lot about the old school goonie history, so a lot of it is pure ducktales to me lmao. but it's entertaining, and that era was very interesting from the black culture perspective, as it's when the tide really began to turn for black rights.

im 2 episodes in...
...does the quality ever get to HBO tv show quality (Boardwalk, Succession, etc...)?

Show seems alright...but its missing something...
...some of the story line are silly....
...and some of the characters seems cheap.

for example...the father the father of that white girl...
...im not buying he's some high up person in the mob...
...seems like a plumber.

Also...the Romeo Juliet storyline is done way too much.

What do you mean by quality? This show is led by 4 award-winning acting legends (Forest Whittaker, Paul Sorvino, Vincent D'Onofrio, & Chaz Palmienteri), has an outstanding soundtrack, amazing writing, and excellent cinematography.

I'm not sure what you mean by cheap characters. IMO, Vincent D'Onofrio's Chin Gigante is a more believable mob boss than James Gandolfini's Tony Soprano. Also, I can't recall any silly storylines; maybe you could elaborate?
