I’m not sure why they aren’t starting with Greek mythology, The boys is already on season 3

It would make it massively more expensive. The greek games had giant, crazy, massive fantasy designs.

I have my doubts God of War will work as a live action series. Especially the new God of War because it barely had a story beyond an awkward dad and his son on a trip up a mountain to bury some ashes. Should be animated and based on the previous trilogy.

Jason momoa would be better tbh

I can’t see The Rock in a role and not just see The Rock. I also think Momoa does stoic better

If they started with the original trilogy they'd easily have enough source content for 6+ seasons.
Aside from casting the right person for Kratos, it's going to be a tough series to truly capture the essence of the game.
The combat alone with the blades and chains is going to have to be very CG heavy unless they re-write it to be just 2 big daggers instead of the blades and chain combo.

I agree that in terms of acting Jason Mamoa makes more sense than The Rock.
I liked Black Adam as far it being a good popcorn flick but I still can't take him serious in any serious roles like playing Kratos would have to be.

If HHH was an actor he could pull off the look of old Kratos.

I'm cautiously optimistic for this series. I think The Last Of Us series has a better shot but I would love for God Of War to be great.

I agree. It's going to be hard to impress fans of the games and gamers with a live action version of this. If they don't have A1 VFX and CGI, the scale of God of War and how epic things are isn't going to translate from the game version.

The Boys does have good vfx, so maybe there is hope. I haven't watched the LOTR show, how is that visually? Do yal think an Amazon Prime Video show will have the talent to pull off the series visually?
