naw man the problem with the internet is that people feel the need not to source and think all the answers are correct because a computer told them. Perhaps we should be honest about what this chart says. It does not simply say that the STD rate has increased over time, which is what you are trying to portray here.

It concerns the number of diagnoses of STDs. As the site you got it from says, 2 of the biggest reasons the number of diagnoses has increased are that there has been an increase in the amount of testing and in the quality of testing over the time period graphed in your picture. That will naturally make the number of diagnoses go up. In other words, it's not simply a bad thing.

It's funny- the article of the OP specifically states that these measures are meant to target people from populations where contraceptives are inaccessible, for cultural or other reasons. No one seems to have acknowledged this and are instead talking about the populations at large.
