Go check my posts leading up to the draft, I didn't want Porzingis and still don't :umad:
:dwillhuh:

If y'all had drafted him - any combination with y'all bigs would work going into the future. Noel/Porzingis or Embiid/Porzingis - with Okafor, really no combination is going to work. Can you imagine [healthy] Embiid and Porzingis together? That frontcourt would have ZERO weaknesses. Like ZERO. And would easily be the best frontcourt for years.

Ya'll nikkas hype Porzingis way too much on here

Dude is shooting 42% as a big, and 34% from 3 with Melo as the 1st option. Knicks are still mediocre and not in the playoffs :mjlol:

Okafor is averaging 17 and 7 as rookie on 49% shooting as the #1 option and no one to defer to. But yet he's nothing compared to Porzingis. FOH :camby:
34% from 3 for a 7fter is pretty good, especially for a rookie.

Okafor works primarily in the paint, which is why his FG% is higher. He has only taken 52 shots from 16ft and out, as opposed to Porzingis who's taken 243 shots from 16ft and out. KP is a better jumpshooter by quite a decent margin.

Oak a safe pick, his talent was going to translate no matter what. :yeshrug:

Kris has bigger potential, I do like him more now, but I think he is better off in NYK or LAL. Minnesota also had to have KAT.

If we had drafted Porzingis, this same exact thread would of been made in reverse.:comeon:

"Okafor's agent steered him away from the Sixers before the draft" :ohhh:

Porzingis would be struggling and shooting sub 40% on that team we started the year with and people would be saying he's a bust. Meanwhile Okafor would be averaging 20 points a game for the Knicks in NY. And Knick fans would be hitting me with the :umad::mjlol:

And you would be rejoicing at the fact y'all drafted the better player. :manny:

Porzingis would probably be shooting better, and averaging more stats across the board if he landed in Philly, as he'd be able to pick his spots more and get more touches.
While Okafor would be averaging 20 points a game for the Knicks in NY. And Knick fans would be hitting me with the :umad::mjlol:
Yeah this tells me you don't watch too many Knicks games. Okafor wouldn't be able to coexist with Lopez and Melo. He'd be benched with the quickness. Porzingis stretches the floor for Melo and allows Lopez to stay in the paint. Jahlil wouldn't have the opportunity to even average the #s he's currently putting up in Philly - let alone 20 ppg.

you really cant see the potential of porzingis? his upside shyts on oaks tbh.dude takes people off the dribble from the 3pt line. his percentages are only going to increase. KD was a sub 40% shooter his first year. porzingis can be a true superstar in this league.

Kristaps is actually a better fit for the Sixers, whether it's Embiid or Nerlens he would have worked with either one.
People forget I wanted Russell over all them nikkas, I didn't want this log jam shyt to begin with :manny:

I would of thought Nerlens would of been traded to make room for Porzingis had we taken him, but with his ability to stretch the floor in retrospect it could of worked, but hindsight is 20/20. :yeshrug: A lot of dudes on Kristaps now, was not feeling him prior to the draft. With the Embiid deabacle we needed a sure thing and Jahlil was that.

Porzingis' agent steered him away from Sixers before draft

The New York Knicks might have never drafted Kristaps Porzingis if it weren't for the efforts of his agent, Andy Miller.

Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski reports that Miller gave the rebuilding Philadelphia 76ers the cold shoulder prior to last summer's draft.

Sixers general manager Sam Hinkie made multiple trips overseas to scout Porzingis throughout the 2014-15 season, but when it came time for pre-draft workouts, Hinkie was kept at a distance.

The Sixers were denied a workout, a sit-down, and even a physical for the 7-foot-3 Latvian sensation. It resulted in a tense moment between Miller and Hinkie during a private workout for Porzingis in front of a host of general managers in Las Vegas.

"You said that I would get a meeting with him here," Hinkie told Miller.

"I said, 'I'd try,' and it's not going to work out, Sam," Miller responded.

Miller couldn't stop the Sixers from drafting Porzingis, though. He wanted to guide his client to New York - Porzingis' dream destination - and by withholding enough information, the Sixers ultimately drafted Jahlil Okafor instead.

It's unclear why Miller played kept the Sixers out of the mix.

The Los Angeles Lakers, owners of the second pick, were granted a workout with Porzingis, so it couldn't have been that Porzingis only wanted to go to New York. Perhaps the dour reputation of Hinkie's aggressive rebuild, or the glut of frontcourt players already in place in Philadelphia, pushed Miller and Porzingis to look beyond the City of Brotherly Love.

Porzingis went on to lead a revival for the Knicks at the Garden whereas the Sixers, despite an improved showing following the arrival of Ish Smith, own the worst record in the league at 7-40.

Too bad Knicks didn't want him either

If it wasn't for Michael Jordan being stupid he'd most likely be in Orlando and the Knicks would have frank
