I've seen a lot of Jim Carrey movies. There was that time in the 90's where he was straight up THAT dude with all of his catch phrases poppin and just so much potential. Of all of his movies that I've seen, this is my order, starting from best to worst. I've seen parts or even the majority of some of his other films (Yes Man, Majestic, Grinch, Me Myself and Irene, etc) but I'm only counting complete viewings.

1) The Truman Show - Brilliant concept and execution. Great acting, always engaging, and surprisingly organic feeling (Doesn't feel as unlikely as you would think). Seems to have aged really well, the satirical elements just continue to become more and more relevant.

2) Ace Ventura : Pet Detective - Classic Carrey. In retrospect, this movie is a lot deeper than given credit for..it has a surprisingly dark look into the life of Ray Finkle. The laces were in brehs...:to:

SMH @ Marino actually never winning a superbowl, you have to think that when he made this movie, he still thought he would get a ring some day.

3) Dumb & Dumber - For me, this is probably his funniest movie, if we are talking pure laughs. I found some of the kidnap plot stuff a little unnecessary, but the road trip aspect and them just sort of lucking there way through the journey is brilliant. I remember that even as a young boy, I really really really wanted to fukk that female gangster.

4) The Mask - I can't really pinpoint exactly what I like about this movie, it's really strange movie actually. It clearly has those comic book elements, but they find a way to mix it into comedy and romance...really good balance I guess. I like the dichotomy between Stanley being a "nice guy" and The Mask being confident, sexual, loud etc. That dude that plays the villain (Who was also in Pulp Fiction and The Usual Suspects) always gives really good bad guy performances.

5) Eternal Sunshine - I thought this was a tad bit overrated...but a good film nonetheless. I just sorta feel like with that concept...you've gotta do more than *just* an interesting character piece. Felt like this didn't even need the sci-fi gimmickry, could have just been a 500 Days of Summer type thing and worked just as well. Still, it's well acted, and does appropriate what relationships put people through.

6) The Cable Guy - Yet another surprisingly dark film....this shyt actually reaches Rosemary's Baby levels of paranoia at times. It's strange, the creepiest aspect to me is the idea of two adult males becoming friends....sad to say, but that's ALREADY kind of weird, ain't it? And than dude ends up being a completely psycho...you can't trust people out here.

7) Liar Liar - I actually just saw this the other day, I still feel similar to how I did when I first saw it..his act started to wear thin on me around this time. While he did come out with Truman Show afterwards, this was sort of when I started to wean off him a bit (And his career changed around this time as well). This is a good movie that I just don't *enjoy* as much. Part of that is probably because it has a fukking child in it (For me, kids are like a curse in movies).

8) Earth Girls Are Easy - 80's movie, whose title is based off of a song. More *enjoyable* then Liar Liar for me, but ultimately a silly fare. He's hardly the main character in this, and this is one of his early joints, so nothing really reflects on him or his career. Still, he's in it, and I do enjoy the ridiculous Valley Girl shyt.

9) Once Bitten - Another 80's movie based off a song title. shyt is just campy teen vampire fare, Jim Carrey has his moments though (Particularly after he starts turning into a vampire). The part I remember the most is at the student dance.

10) Bruce Almighty - When this first came out I thought it was gonna be on some "back to his roots" type shyt....but it was truly just another terrible rom com. His earlier films seemed to keep a darker undertone, this was that hokey hollywood horse shyt.

11) Batman Forever - Just a terrible comic book adaptation. Doesn't really reflect on Carrey because this isn't his movie. He could probably play a much better Riddley character in a Nolan type Batman but this was that hokey 90's shyt and he was hammin' it the fukk up.

12) Ace Ventura : When Nature Calls - 'Cism aside this is probably better than a couple of these other movies, but I ain't c00nin' out here...:birdman:

Dumb & Dumber was the best but I've always loved Ace Ventura and Cable Guy.

Midevil times, Porno Password scenes in Cable Guy were hilarious when I was a kid and when I got older and understood more of the jokes I was like :ohh:

This scene: [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNc9phYujWY"]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNc9phYujWY[/ame]

:russ: He sonned Matthew Broderick the entire movie.

An underrated Carrey movie and an underrated movie period.
